This was a very important fight for Lewis because he was in there against a teak tough Mercer. Lewis proved he was gutsy and had what it took to stay in the trenches and grind out a win, which he deserved in my opinion. He rattled off some great combinations, in what was a very entertaining fight.

Mercer was a very tough fighter in his prime.

I could be wrong about some of the rounds:

    1)Mercer
    2)Mercer
    3)Mercer
    4)Lewis
    5)Mercer
    6)Lewis
    7)Mercer
    8)Lewis
    9)Lewis
    10)Mercer

Lewis didn't do anything in the last round; not to say that Mercer did that much more.

I even cut Lewis a break on one of the rounds, too.

BTW it's so much better watching it on tv instead of youtubin it.

Mercer did some damage to Lewis in that fight.

I'm in the process of rewatching the fight.

Can I ask how you gave the second round to Mercer? He had one flurry in a round that Lewis was bouncing combinations off him....:think

This seemed like a CLEAR Lewis round if you ask me. :deal

I'm a Mercer fan, but I thought Lennox did just enough to pull out a win. It was a very entertaining fight, and every time I watch it, I HOPE that Ray somehow pulls off the victory.

So... 6-4 and "you could be wrong about some of the rounds"? :think

Most of the Lewis haters cry about a "robbery". Does that sound like a "robbery" to you? :think

I remember watching it live and I wanted so badly for Mercer to pull it off, but as I recall, I had Lewis winning by a round in an extremely competitive fight where Lewis showed his mettle and matured into a better fighter on that night. The biggest surprise was how effective Mercer was with his jab! I think he actually out jabbed Lewis that night but Lewis had a slight edge in effective power shots which ultimately led to the victory.

"Just getting warmed up"?!!! You are so full of ****. You really are. Klitschko spent half the sixth round holding Lewis and falling all over the ring. It took him an age to stagger like a drunk back to his corner. When his corner stuck butterfly stitches all over his face, which you're not allowed to fight with of course, he didn't even notice. When the doc came over and checked him out, he didn't even notice until about ten seconds later that he'd told the corner their man couldn't continue with his face in that state (and they didn't disagree with him you notice, this coupled with the butterfly stitches shows they were pulling him out anway). I won't even make an issue of the fact that half his face was falling off (six cuts I think it was, no doubt you're going to blame them all on 1 punch in the third or Lewis' hair). Yes Lewis was very tired, yes he took a lot of punches in that fight but it was Klitschko who took most of the damage. "Just getting warmed up" lol

I had it to Lewis by two if I remember rightly. The small ring helped Mercer a bit I think, he was a good fighter though and tough as ****.

    He was more active.

Scully had it 3-0 going into the 4th as well.

47 year old Ray Mercer is fighting in Sweden next month against Croatian journeyman Ivica Perkovic who had not fought since losing to Sinan Samil Sam in October 2007

    Definetly not a robbery.

Term gets tossed around way too much.

I just remember that I had the fight 6-4.

The rounds were switched that's all i mean.
