Lewis was and still is a H2H heavyweight nightmare for anyone. And one his day is arguably number 1. He would of beaten Tyson both in his "prime" and after it. Theres a reason Tyson's side avoided Lewis earlier in their careers. Sorry to the "prime Tyson" brigade but its true.
I hate to break it to the Lennox fanboys but he has gotten drilled and KO'd savagely by fighters far less capable than Tyson. To say he beats any Tyson at any time hands down is about as openly foolish as it gets. And I fear you guys are dead serious, only reason I'm saying this.
50/50, but after a few rounds of seeing the ref let Lewis hold like Wlad Klitscho, I knew Lewis had it easy.
We can only speculate about what would have happened if these two had faced each other at their respective bests. However (as it stands), the fact remains that Mike Tyson was a shot fighter by the time he cashed in his chips against Lennox Lewis.
I would favour Lewis over any Tyson. Of course Tyson could win but Lewis had all the tools to beat a prime Tyson
Their primes came at different moments. As a swarmer, Tyson was best in his very young years, then the wear and tear, not to mention the drugs -insert any name here, he's probably done it- took it's toll, and by the first Holyfield fight, he was just a 6 rds puncher. Lewis was a tall and powerfull sharpshooter that took years to perfect: i would say his prime came by his 30's. So you would need to take 20 year old Tyson vs 30 year old Lewis for a dream prime-for-prime superfight. I believe it could go either way, considering Lewis' shaky chin: but i still like him by close decision in a fight he starts to dominate in the second part while Tyson runs out of ideas and shows his frustration/ gets intimidated.
