You brought up Uncle Manny's supposed protecting of Lewis in the past, and it reminded me of the time Uncle Manny helped successfully steer team KLIT away from his bout with Briggs in MSG...:hat

 

You only ever spoke of LL when he was at his peak Suge, now we are discussing Wlad at his best to date! Do you really think Briggs could get anywhere Wlad today?

...I just didn't think it was cool to talk about Manny being protective with Lewis, without noting he's done that **** with KLIT (much more recently in fact).

 

Recently is not NOW. I really didn't know about Steward avoiding Briggs if that what you're saying. BUT, I do think Steward would have avoided the Lewis THEN of facing the Wlad NOW! :think :yep

 

No way in hell does Wlad fight on after he got hit by the shots that Lewis was hitting his brother with.

Vitali was by far the better fighter. VK seemed to be abit mean...Wlad seems like boxing really isnt his thing.

Its like my mother told me a few years ago...."You know your little brother only played football so he could hang out with you"

 

Actually, Lewis fought like a ***** too, the best out of the two comes down to best jab, most shock in right hand, and best chin.....

Wlad wins on all counts! Plus he fights anyone and doesn't spend his time in court trying to force washed little guys to fight him.

What he actually said was it would make Lewis look bad because the fight wouldn't even be competitive. Who's got selective memory syndrome again? Also bear in mind that Byrd is still considered by some to be WALDS best win :hi:

 

You can't compare Vitali & Wlad. Wlad is technical, Vitali is more a bull; Wlad wouldn't get it like Vitali did by plain & simple.

Also, let's look at Wlad's strengths over Lennox:

Mental conditioning: far superior. Never out of shape, never gets bored and changes routine unless he has to and follows Mannys instructions to a 'T'

Jab: Faster. Far more accurate.

Power: Wlad. Check that K/O %.

Footwork: I'd say Wlad here, the man's amazing on his toes.

Stamina: Wlad. Lennox tired so so so easily....either match vs Holyfield for example?

Lewis had many many holes and many bad habits also, hands down, chin out, but like Wlad his offence was also his defence. Plus Lewis never liked bigger guys unless they sucked (Hi Golota!)

So on paper you have to go Wlad....but here's the stinger why I can't confidently back Wlad to win: Wlad's defence when he's on the receiving end is really shakey.....BUT NOT HIS CHIN! His backfoot, there's a difference and Lewis had a way of dealing with people on the back foot.....but then Lewis's defence and Wlad's offence......ARGH! ****it, I can't call this one. Let's wait 5 years and see how far Wlad goes because he's not peaked yet.


Would be an amazing fight though.......

Nice try Sugie, but few believe Wlad or Manny were afraid of ol' Briggs.

 

I'm a huge fan of both & I think this fights 50/50. That's being honest, unlike most here.
