Exactly. I paid hard earned money on tickets for this mainly for this fight. Now it just seems like a farce, an almost pointless fight.
They said at the last press conference this camp has been great compared to the Canelo one. How can you not even make weight then!
It's not like it's a pay day fight like Paul's against Ward, this is a proper fight with real implications. Smith has seemed pissed off at the suggestion Williams could beat him and says he wants to show he's still number one so why not do things right.
    Not happy me haha.

Smith's statement on the weigh in. Yeah the announcer did say "one hour" but surely Joe G as a professional trainer knew the real rules? Amateur hour again from the Ring Magazine Trainer of the Year.

Rumour is he is planning on leaving Warren for Hearn but that there is a clause in his contract with Warren that if he wins a title, the contract automatically renews a year.

All adds up when you think about it. Boxed since a kid, been a pro god knows how long, always made weight, yet this time he missed. Then doesnt even attempt to lose the extra. Liam Smith himself plus his camp of professionals know how to cut his weight for a fight, the chances it was accidental are very slim

Surprised if he'd be willing to sacrifice a potential world title to move to matchroom though.
Especially with the BT deal. But maybe Hearn has another route to world honours mapped out for him?
Agreed though, chance of him missing weight accidentally is minimal. Weight he's made his entire career.

Be interested to know where this rumour has come from, first I've heard of it.

If i was frank and smith loses tonight then I'd happily get rid of him.

Never believe these rumours. Remember there was a rumour not long ago that Brook was moving to FW? Liam Smith has always praised FW and he's criticised Eddie Hearn in the past for comments made about a potential Brook-Smith fight at 154.

Brook vs Smith would be a massacre, I also reckon Smith and his camp think of him more highly than his actual ability, so they have probably taken Williams lightly.

Doesn't look good for Smith whatever happens.

    Brook would annihilate smith

Smith is just another fighter coming into the ring with a tesco joe gameplan. Keep ya hands to ya head like earmuffs walk forward try an tire your man down and if he does start to fade get your own shots off

Brook is not half as talented as Canelo and Smith put a semi decent display against Canelo.

Smith lasted twice as long as Brook against GGG and didn't need surgery either!

Brook vs Smith is 50/50, Smith would beat Carson Jones like a drum.

I hope Smith beats Williams, and I expect he will then he can make Kell Brook the new LLL

Gallagher's been here before, remember the problems he had with John Murray making weight for British title fights.

Decent performance? Smith lost every round. Nothing decent about it.
