Ricky and Scott have never been one punch KO's guys Scott wore you down,Ricky throw plenty. Again with respect the secc opponent and world level night and day and in many peoples opinion that's we're today's Scott is going to be found out
Injured, he was injured before he went in that ring, I do not know how he passed a medical. I actually felt sorry for Ricky, thought that poor guy would have worked his pan in for 10-12 weeks, adrenaline pumping then that. I hope Cook had his purse withheld. If your injured like that you should not go in a ring. Thought Scott lasted those 6 rounds ok, a lot of sweet on him, but his pace never dropped. The guy landed a cracking shot just before the bell at end of fight, would have knocked many of a boxer over.
Of course it is a different level, big gap. But Scott would have needed to have went backwards at least 60% to not be competitive at british level, as the gap from were he was at to these guys must be in that area of percentages Billy. You see it at british level, Murray was walking through everyone, Mitchell looked like a stylish contender at that level, found it easy, but when both took that huge step up they got hammered on a couple of occasions. My thoughts are simple has Scott Harrison lost that much ability ? I doubt it, as it is a lot to lose mate.
Burns flattened Mitchell with one left hook that had more impact on Mitchell than anything Katsidis hit him with. As for the idea that Harrison would be able to cut off the ring on Burns, Katsidis tried to do that and was outboxed for 12 rounds and IMO Katsidis is/was a better fighter than Scott Harrison.
are peopple seriously talking about Burns vs Harrison? Harrison gets beat up in 2 rounds on Saturday!
In terms of ability and level absoulutely I agree with you that he is miles from a world title but in terms of money I would say not and money rules all in boxing. After a good win Saturday (Which I'm not expecting) Harrisson would be a massive draw againt Burns in Scotland. The Press alone would be huge. The money would be there for sure so I would expect it to happen. I would also expect Ricky to Anhialate him. As for Moog.... If you think Scott is a bigger puncher than Hamed you must be on drugs!!! (Not even gonna cover the others you mentioned.)
Actually probably one of the only things that ever really impressed me with Harrisson was his footwork supprisingly.
A post-Marquez Katsidis would be roughly on a par with what Harrison was at his best I'd say. Katsidis was a tremendous pressure fighter-puncher at just below genuine world class, at world level he was generally found wanting because his foot movement wasn't the best and his right hand was poor, not to mention being awfully open to a well timed uppercut.
Will mate it aint gonna happen, the press plastic boxin fans and Harrison are the only folk who really want it. all the respect in the world for Harrison as boxer but a world title fight wae ricky is pie in the sky now. Glad he is going for it again but there paths aint gonna meet for me. Ricky wud get pounded on here for fightin Harrison the only way he wouldn't is if scotty smashes 3-4 opponents wae early k.os then it cud be justified, but for me naw
Sorry will a take yer 1st point money controls in boxin but the rickster is geetn pretty decent crowds the noow and a think they'll only get bigger when the sky build up gathers pace
I agree kastidas was fringe world class, good fun to watch. Thats the difference scott Harrison had 10-11 world title fights, losing only 1, beat 6 world/former world champions so like him or hate him he was genuine world class.
Still not hundred percent this fight comes off,but its by far the most interesting on the bill, and I hope it does. This discussion has been great, the best for me since Ive been a member If it comes off,I can't see Scott going the distance.Dont think it'll be early, and I think the one to tire will be him.Expect Walsh to box in the early rounds, then later on to start planting his feet more and finish it in 7 or 8 rounds.Appleby was a good young fighter, with plenty going for him,and Walsh found a way to win.Had the Burns fight come off, think he'd have lasted the distance, but lost widely.I do think he's capable of winning the Euro title proper, and possibly the best of the bunch potentially bar Burns.Hope he's more active in future.
Doesnt matter how skilled you are, a strong left hock to the ribs will hurt regardless if your mayweather or Peter Buckley
No way, Harrison beats Katsidis prime for prime Now a shadow (understandably) of what he was and i see him starting well against Walsh but being stopped late
