Enjoy Blackpool Billy, shame they have two good bills on the same night. And enjoy watching Scott;s victory after that show, lol.
All the bookies and that seem to have fight down as a 12 round fight, taking bets on who wins in 11th and 12th rounds anyway.
I think the weigh in will be interesting - a great opportunity for Scott to use his experience and pysch Walsh out. I think it will be the first stage were he is taking out of his comfort zone in the build up to the fight.
Spoke to the WBO European head (who funnily is Itskvan Kovacs what a fighter he was) He says there was a request for 10 rounds by the promoter due to the amount of fights on the card. He accepted this and agreed to it. Looks like its going to go off over the distance before the fight.
Interestingly enough the three bookies who have it as 10 rounds are Betfred who sponser the bill for the promoter. Stan James who have gone up 10 rounds before and been the only one and been proved right with other fights and bwin who seem on the ball. I guess if Scott makes enough noise it might change but doubtful as the schedule is out now and that says 10 rounds as well. I guess they can go at it earlier than normal with no worry about the extra 2 rounds?
It is a disgrace if there has been a plan to mislead Scott over the distance of fight. As it would be lengthly odds on some bookies and wbo knowing its a 10 rounder, and scott sat next to ****** thinking its a 12 rounder, and ****** keeping quite about it ! It is obvious that ****** is firing scott in hoping he gets battered off walsh - I just hope and expect scott to sink that though - he has always been at his best when people write him off - brings best out of him. Remember Chacon, remember mendina after 1st fight and he was wrote off going into second fight, and he hammered mendina in the second fight, like Chacon to a degree in 1st. We are going to witness that most remarkable comeback in british boxing history tomorrow - 'The Real McCoy will outclass Walsh'.
Got a little inkling that now ****** can't make Burns-Harrison that he doesn't rally care what happens with Scotty any more. It's certainly set for Walsh to win, especially with how Harrison looked in his last outing, granted it was off a lay off, with problems outside of the ring as well. But still, if its that Scotty that turns up I see him gassing from body shots and probably being stopped. If Harrison managed to roll back the years though, Walsh could be in for a long night.
I actually feel sorry for Walsh, he seems a nice guy, just a pity hes going to look like Tom Cruise in "Vanilla Sky" after the fight.
What makes you so confident about Harrison? He's well into his 30's and not had a real fight in over 7 years, he's really up against it for me. I don't see how anyone could pick him so confidently.
Because alot of his main attributes are still there regardless of lay off, granite chin, good footwaork, great shot selection, special boxing brain and sheer power. That is more than enough for Walsh, who is good, but has only had 13 careers fights, only 2 in 20 months, not great for someone so inexperienced. The best opponent that Walsh has fought is Appelby, and he nearly got beat in that fight, was badly hurt, Scott at even 50% of old would have beat Appelby still without being badly hurt. Thats the reasons i base my strong opinion on, that and fact when Scott was in jail in spain he trained every day (was allowed), so it is not like he has been sat on his bum for 7 years like some people think. I expect to see a special performance on saturday mate.
I could be wrong but wasn't Hatton vs Senchenko a 10 rounder ? I'm pretty sure bookies were offering 12 rounds on that too.
