Just watched one of Benetiz's fights before he fought for a title Im pretty sure at 140. Can someone tell me about a tournament that he was participating in, as shown by the broadcast.

2.47 in. My mistake its the Welterweight division. I only recognise Shields, Gant, Mayweather and benetiz on there. Anyone know much about the others?

The United States Boxing Championships is on the ring logo.

Was that the Don King Tourney that went south?

Not sure. I read in Four Kings about a tourney he tried to set up in the middleweight division but was caught ought. He was trying to put a boxer in it who haden't fought in 2 years and added to imagined boxers to his record  This is the guy who would have replaced Hagler in it :patsch He sure had a tough start to his career.
