He didn`t knock him out, he stopped him on his feet and Tyson was in his prime while Rooney was in his corner.
Douglas tho badly out of shape looked sharp early and Holyfield looked even sharper. Holmes and Tyson are very very awkward customer even at that age Mark. Two very wily old ATG's. Now here's the thing and take notice of this closely if you will. Tyson will always look better than the likes of Holmes and Holyfield against crap to good opposition or even very good at a guess. He is perhaps the best in history at demolishing that level of fighter. That is what he brings to the table. Common opponents will see Tyson outshining the other two by miles almost every time. This does not automatically mean he is better than them when the level get higher or beats them H2H.
Douglas didn`t look like anything early on and quit as soon a a decent shot landed, Gary Mason who was commentating on the fight said the fight`s over as soon as he saw how Douglas was shaping up in the 1st round, what did he do that was sharp?
I'll re-watch it later in the week or on the weekend latest mate. Unforgiven and myself agreed ages ago despite his weight he looked sharp very early on. Will watch again.
