This. Oscar, Barrera and Winky are three of the greatest fighters of recent times. They made it work for them.
not really on topic but i wonder how duran would have done fighting southpaw? his dynamite right hand would have much easier to get off in most cases
Definitely a converted southpaw, it's possible he is ambidexterous, since he had incredible power in both hands and a squared stance, I have about 5 tyson dvds and the commo's talk in one of his early fights about him being a converted southpaw.
He was a southpaw, Cus D'amato took him in and converted him to an orthodox stance. I doubt there are many videos of him fighting at 16 y/o.
This content is protected The hand you naturally throw your straight with and box in is your HAND, I wouldn't call Tyson rigth handed because he writes with his right, but felt comfotable and started boxing with his left? Pacquiao for example had to develop power in his right, because in boxing terms, he was left handed, however he writes, probably wanks and wipes his arse with his right. A lot of people who are left handed are taught to write with their other hand as a child, it happened to me. If you beleive otherwise, then list Pacman as a fighter in the wrong stance.
pacman grew up in Asia where they're more old fashioned. Lots of kids out there were taught to write with the right even if they were left handed. I haven't ever heard anything about manny being right handed.
Yeah I'm kind of surprised people don't know that about Tyson.. It's not a wrong way to fight, the more important thing is which is your dominant eye.
Agreed. He had this rep as a brawler but truth is he was an amazing boxer and one of the most accurate in hes day. He loved to brawl however
