You need to take it up with Herb Goldman who I believe has watched a fight or two.

Get this too ,you are not capable of mounting a credible argument to support your case and, when you are corrected you do not react very well.

So name the current rated fighters Cleveland Williams beat? Name the curent rated fighters Williams knocked out? Name the stand out wins over great fighters? Demonstrate Cleveland williams all time great pedigree.

If what I am saying somehow lacks credibility prove it.

I've already named the fighters that were ranked at one time or another that Williams beat and I left out a couple.

To equate him with Lamar clark is an absurdity as others have pointed out .

I've no interest in trying to convince you, because quite frankly your opinion is not sufficiently important to me and this conversation has become boring.:hi:

The only way we can call a man a good puncher is when they move up in class and we are not talking about top 10 guys here that he couldn't KO.

I also was told Big stuff about Big cat but a closer look does not show me evidence of Big power

Thad Spencer was rated #8 when Mac Foster knocked him out 1969.

Ernie shavers was #6 throughout the year Ron Lyle knocked him out.

    Williams can't match this.

That is not what I asked. And you know it!

    One time or another.....:patsch

Current ....this is the word you keep overlooking.

If you are trying to push Cleveland big cat Williams as an ATG heavyweight he has to have beat curent contenders of his own era.
If you are trying to go further and want to push Williams as an ATG puncher he has to have knocked out world rated contenders.

Otherwise Cleveland big cat Williams will remain a regular contender like Karl mildenburger or Manuel ramos who also made the ratings for three years during the 1960s.

Off the top of my head, I can only think of Ernie Terrell as a 'name' fighter who Cleveland Williams KO'd.

Big Cat might have been a 'huge puncher' but he never proved himself particularly capable of knocking out good fighters.

Please provide sources of where "Williams was considered a much harder puncher than Ingo."

So was he ,or was he not a huge puncher?
Liston and Terrell said he was the hardest hitter they met.

Many of those he beat were rated a year prior to him koing them and a year after he turned the trick , look it up, I'm not box rec.

I think he was a big puncher, but many heavyweights are.

There's an argument to be made that he wasn't a particularly effective or dangerous puncher at the top level.

Who did Lamar Clark ko? None of his victims have any form at all.
Williams has recognizable names such as the following among his ko victims.
    Tod Herring
    Sonny Banks
    Mike Bruce
    Roger Rischer
    Alex Miteff
    John Holman
    Ernie Terrell
    Leroy Caldwell

This was after Williams ten year Lamar Clark like early record. It was "only" the first ten years that was comparable to Clark's career. After that (and this is the third time I have explained this to you) Williams did branch out against the same fringe guys other rated guys were beating. This was 1961 and it was from that point and that point only Williams surpassed Clark.

Strictly on the first ten years of Williams career, Opponent for opponent Lamar Clark could have beat the same guys.
