I agree with that Liston's "slowness" is ridiculously over-stated.
He's actually landing plenty of shots on some very fast opponents in most his fights - the only real exception is the Clay/Ali fights.

Also, Tyson got hit by guys who were slower and far less skilled than Sonny.

Dont get me wrong, i pick Liston to beat both Tyson and Foreman. But lets not get carried away regarding Tyson getting frustated, Liston wasn't exactly heart, guts and glory himself.

Tyson did say the one man he'd be intimidated by would be Liston.

Foreman also said Liston was the only man who never ran from him in the ring and i think Ali also said Liston was the most intimidating guy he fought.

Both Foreman and Tyson knew Liston was a few levels above them on the badass ladder.

Liston probably was around 40 when he fought Clay/Ali. That's old.

The only legitimate modern skilled Heavyweight with the appropriate size which we are accustomed to today Liston met was Cassius Clay.............and he packed it in twice without much resistance .Undeniable fact.

Foreman, Ali, Bowe, Tyson, Holyfield etc etc even when totally washed up/old/drugged or just plain done were never laid out like old Liston by one punch. Undeniable fact.

Cleveland Williams was a Clubfighter . Undeniable fact.

The only undeniable fact is that you are stupid enough to believe the second Liston / Ali fight was genuine.

Well when you consider that Sonny himself didn't know when he was born, and that everyone in his family was illiterate, so consequently there was no birth certificate, who knows how old he was when he fought Clay / Ali?

In a world populated with P.a.c.t.a.r.d.s and Tyson fan boys, you are seriously claiming you can't believe he was / is ahead in the poll?

Come on man, pay attention to the amount of fools around you.:rofl:rofl

Williams is harder Puncher than Tyson and was one of the fastest Punchers ever step in the ring with very good skills in his Prime.

I think even he hits harder than Liston himself because
    Liston said that
+ Foreman said Williams was the hardest puncher he faced
    to see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmG_gR576EA

Watch Terrell vs Williams , Terrell by the way 10 times better as the Ali Terrell
    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xshktk_terrell-vs-williams_sport
(i like that fight , chance my mind about Williams a lot)

+ Liston vs Williams 1 for sure the best Footage of Williams because there are no other recordings of his best.

Liston in his Prime has the most devastating Jab in history ,
above average Chin , stamina for 15 rounds ,
good head movement , solid handspeed , very good infighter ,
one of the best left hooks ever and a man who never shows realy nerves
    or fear against anybody.

Emanuel Steward said in an interview that he watch Liston since 50s
and knows he played golf , was drinking and things like these
after Patterson fights and said Alis style was the worst thing ever
that can happen at this time.
Steward said Prime Liston would beat a young Ali , whatever.

    Liston beat Tyson by KO9

    No

Well Liston wasn't on the United States Census his family were on in 1930, however he did appear on the 1940 Census has a 10 year old which makes him 34 max when he fought Clay...

Well let me explain to you what I meant when I said Tyson would be frustrated .

Mike is used to overpowering and ragdolling his opponents the sec he touches em .

Liston is one of the rare few fighters that Mike simply cannot manhandle .

Sonny was indeed heart , guts and glory . He proved that against Marty Marshall and Cleveland Williams .

The man had a rock solid chin and was known for his ability to withstand a lot of punishment .

Marshall said "When I broke Sonnys jaw , he didn't even blink " He kept on fighting 8 more rounds as if it was nothing .

Cleveland Williams broke his nose in the first round of their first war in 1959 . Blood poured like lava but the expression on Sonnys face was like he was playing poker . In round 3 He took Williams out with ease .

In the rematch , Williams stunned him again only to see Liston shut him down once again seconds later .

Ali said Liston was the most technical fighter hes ever faced in his career .

Yes im also aware of Foremans comments about Liston .

George himself once said that he really whacked Liston in sparring and Sonny just stared at him and said... ' No Son'

Liston was one scary man LOL
