Just talking bout him the other day. A mate of mine commented on facebook that he'd just watched Johnny's battle with Brian McCaffrey for the british welterweight title. This was my response. funny enough i've just found a write up for that fight. The headline is "NOW THIS IS BOXING" Johnny Cooke beats Brian MCaffrey for title in a fight of greatness, courage and nobility. Daily Express Feb 14th 1967. It goes on to say "the greatest welterweight battle I have ever seen. See if you can get us a copy please Tony i'll scan and sent that write up to you if you want. Yeah sound mate, if u don't mind like. Thats the only fight i've seen of johnnys but it was a pretty old tape so the quality wasn't too good. My mate said he was with his dad an i think your cousin a few weeks ago in town. Could be mistaken though
