    Nice one!

It's the first one rather than the second. I actually got hold of the author because I was going to get my Dad it for Christmas but he said it was out of production.

On the Pat Dwyer thing, you on Mersey Gloves forum Al? Someone on there said a while back that they tried to get hold of him for an interview but never heard back.

Just talking bout him the other day.
A mate of mine commented on facebook that he'd just watched Johnny's battle with Brian McCaffrey for the british welterweight title.
    This was my response.
funny enough i've just found a write up for that fight. The headline is "NOW THIS IS BOXING" Johnny Cooke beats Brian MCaffrey for title in a fight of greatness, courage and nobility. Daily Express Feb 14th 1967. It goes on to say "the greatest welterweight battle I have ever seen. See if you can get us a copy please Tony
i'll scan and sent that write up to you if you want. Nice picture of Johnny on there with Ian St.John.

Yeah sound mate, if u don't mind like. Thats the only fight i've seen of johnnys but it was a pretty old tape so the quality wasn't too good. My mate said he was with his dad an i think your cousin a few weeks ago in town. Could be mistaken though

yes I think he was with my mate who i was chatting to in that facebook conversation. They presented him with his Shoreditch town Hall medal.
Send your email to my messages and I'll sort it.
