I actually think Starling is a bad matchup for a LOT of very good Welters. One of the most criminally underrated scientists of all time.

Cheers Flea!! I've been on the pop all afternoon watching the football so I WAS going to leave a "proper" post until tomorrow but I couldn't let your challenge go unmet!!;)

His win over Shufford for the #1 ranking gets overrated and shows how just Boxrecing fighters can be misleading.

Don Curry and Milton McCrory between them had beaten pretty much every active top welterweight on the planet. Shufford was in his mid 30s and number 1 purely because he was the only "top" fighter who'd managed to avoid fighting either of them!!

cheers kos that be quality :good

Yeah i gotta agree with you guys Starling was a class act and he buzzed Lloyd early and he did well to last so long because he was literally gone from opening exchanges. I do also agree you could see he started to think he had devastating power. Great Fighter really enjoyed last nights British Boxing Heroes.

loved honeyghan...see the poll re honeyghan v cotto in the boxing forum...i went to the breland debacle...a very sad spectacle, with honeyghan booed and taunted as he left the ring...two or three years earlier i think honeyghan would've given breland a good argument...

A friend of the guys I work for who pops in to see us on the odd occasion, holds an amateur win over Lloyd Honeyghan. I will try and find out his name, pretty sure it's legit.
