Taylor is an olympian and certainly didnt embarrass himself against two of the best fighters in the world right now. Calling him a club fighter is just false. No one anywhere is ever going to convince me that Bernard wasnt robbed blind in the first fight with Taylor. The 2nd fight I do see your point. It was clear that Nard had Taylor's number in the first fight and even with only a slight improvement from Taylor, Hops was even more passive and defensive in the 2nd fight. He would have had to known that HBO was probably going to shift him again but he did not do anything to win more convincingly this time, even though he probably could of.
Hopkins was in a midlife-crisis when he fought Taylor -- we have no right to demand anything more from him in the vein of 'he should have won more convincingly'.
Hopkins is dirty, there is a lot to learn. Just because he is one-dimensional doesn't mean Tito is stupid. He used to be a boxer puncher until he fell in love with his power. The old "G-man" story.
I think Wright knows that ..But Wrights trainer Birmingham is smart enough to know what to look out for ..Why take advice from someone who takes advice from Trinidad Sr ??
I've been a Hopkins fan a long time and respect what he accomplished and the discipline and dedication that turned his life around and made him a great Champion. But Taylor??? Sorry Hop's, you lost twice. The first was close as he almost pulled it out late but when you give away the first 7 or 8 rounds?? You gotta KO and close didnt count. The second fight?? More of the same, Taylor outpointed him, simple and plain. BTW, for any who question?/ I lost $$$$4 on BOTH FIGHTS and am still a Hopkins fan, truth is truth, like it or not!! I also have a ton of respect for Wright and give both props for making this fight happen. May the best man win:good
