JMM is a great fighter period. He was just a better fighter. No shame for Diaz, he just git hit too much
JMM has officially moved past both Barrera & Morales on the list of great Mexican fighters. I'm sure a few critics were wavering but the guy has really done validated his legacy in many ways. Also, I'm consistently stunned by the accuracy of some of the predictors on ESB forums. Some called it quite accurately. The guys here that know what they are talking about really know what they're talking about. Finally, did this fight remind anyone of Vargas/ODLH in tone a bit? (I mean when you ignore that this is 4 times better of course).
. Marquez does not have the resume of either of those guys. Diaz is a good fighter, and did himself proud tonight, but that isn't the scalp that moves a fighter ahead of the likes of Morales and Barrera. It's razor thin, though.
Incredible fight. It went like I thought it would -and many other people I think.. Diaz swarming and winning the early rounds, then the master figuring him out in the middle rounds and eventually beating him down. It was just an awesome fight - certainly FOTY.
