I do agree that Lomachenko looked bad, but there are obvious factors that contributed to this. I think it's a combination of rust and the mental aspect not being 100%. And then the immense pressure of needing to look dominant and get a W for Ukraine. Plus he probably felt that he needed to match and or exceed Usyk's performance against Joshua in the rematch.

Giving him a pass and looking forward to seeing how he looks the next time out.

Lomachenko, though, ain't Pac, and he can't handle the size difference like Pac could. Most likely because of the inferior punching power.

Did you guys see Haney next to Loma in the ring last night? Loma was laughing and jokingly said "this is a lightweight?". Based on 1) Loma working hard to beat an ex sparring partner 2) the size disparity and 3) Haneys skills, I dont see Loma winning. FFS this guy is really a featherweight fighting at 135!

Haney wins a UD, and Loma retires.

I just cant see Loma at his current age beating Haney. So let's think about this. Lomas best win is a prime Gary Russell Jr. And Gary might be better than Haney p4p. That's a debate we can have. But H2H Haney schools Gary. Too much size difference. Other top Loma wins are Walters, Campbell and Linares. I don't think any can beat Haney.

You could say the same about Haney cuz even a 34 year old Loma would be Haneys best win. I just have hard time seeing Loma beat Haney at 34. Even at 29 that would be a hard fight for Loma.

Big part of last night story was likely due to the kid’s confidence from sparring together. A mental dynamic that will not be present in the Haney fight,

This,,,Haney is a far better boxer than Ortiz and will control distance . I think Lomachenko is a fantastic fighter, at 126 to 130 pounds. He's not nearly as effective at 135 against A class fighters and Haney is an A. Loma could win but I don't think that's the way to bet.

    Loma belongs at 130
His ATG skills got him through at 135
But now at 35yrs old he doesn’t reach that top gear consistently anymore, and that makes beating Haney a long shot.

If Loma stays the **** out of hopeless Ukraine and focuses on boxing in CA I think he can take off a lot of rust and make a great run against Haney in March.
Haney is huge and fast but styles make fights and Haneys style isn’t a great fit.

Haney sprays that jab … and it’s so long it’ll be effective holding the distance but he’s going to miss constantly . Loma specializes in slipping the jab getting inside and landing his left. After which Haney will clinch.
Haneys not very accurate with his power shots and loves going backwards. He doesn’t hold the center like Ortiz and Lopez.

The much bigger man clinching, moving backwards and spraying/missing is hard to score rounds for.

Loma will school hypejob Huggies Haney. Last night was ring rust facing a former sparring partner. Haney wore lifts to appear much taller than Loma for the psychological edge but Loma laughed him off and Huggies left the ring.

Hmm? Haney is better than Ortiz and that schooling didn't go so well.

Let the fight happen and let Loma be the underdog.

Ortiz has power? He has 8 KO's in 16 wins. He has little power.

Haney is just a jab and grab fighter.

Interesting fight. Haney with his huge weight cuts and Loma ageing means it will definitely be hard to pick come the night of the fight.
