 who on earth told me that Gonzalez won the lineal championship from Mares lool
Either way, Jhonny Gonzalez was THE guy in the division going into the GRJ-Jhonny fight.

Aaa. Going by that, you are right. The thing is Russell is not lineal but he is atop the division. Yet lets not get carried away - he only beat Gonzales.(Not that the division has much more to offer)
Btw, TTBR has Russell at #3

He beat Gonzalez, who finished Mares. Russell just dominated Gonzalez, it was a very good win and Russell earned no.1 spot in the division after that. Gonzalez is a good fighter, capable of very good wins.
    What's TTBR?

The Transnational Boxing Rankings - they are quite apt at putting together good rankings.
Russell is atop the division - as i stated and i agree - but he is not the lineal champ nor does he have much of a resume.
