For anyone feeling the need to respond to Blizzy for his Lomachenko/Salido meanderings in this thread. Here's what he said in 2016:

Even he admits he'd lose & probably prices himself out :risas3:

Is that all you've got Blizzy? A second pro fight questionable loss???

Davis is a VERY solid Prospect, you could argue once he has a title he should be able and willing to fight anyone in the world but really he doesnt HAVE to fight Lomachenko, he isnt his mandatory and it would be a bigger fight later on. it would be a nice fight right now but Davis doesnt have enough experience and i see it being more competitive in 3 years as Davis progresses and Lomas legs maybe start slowing down

So does this mean Lomachenko is trying to cherry pick Davis? You're supposed to go fight the best challenge not just belt holders right? I mean, all these paper champs in the sport now and there's guys without belts that is better than Davis...

Floyd cherry picked Mosley who had a belt, Maidana who had a belt, 23 year old Canelo who had a belt, De La Hoya who had a belt in another weight class, Ortiz who had a belt, even Gurerro had a belt.. Every single one of those guys were cherry picked but he ducked Margarito...lol

Kinda like Ward picking on someone like Chudinov.

    Not cool by Loma.

Let the kid season some, and handle his biz with damn Salido already.

Get a damned contract already and quit looking at other fights.

At this point.....Both Davis AND Loma would make peanuts for this potential blockbuster in a couple yrs.

Not like either are prime yet, and neither are gonna lose a step at 135.

Loma is only 28. bout to be 29 I think.

Anyway.....yeah, he can hold off, Im in complete agreement.
Mayweather gotta spend some of them billions, building this KID UP. Get him some name value, and some showcase fights vs big names between mandatories, and find an easy-ish, unification, and then, if Loma is still at 130, they could meet there.

OR....2-3 more brand building fights, a UNI and a move to 135, and this might be PPV ready. Just IMO.

I agree that it's a fight that NEEDS to happen, especially if some fundamental flaw does not send Davis down the toilet ala Broner.

But as for protecting an 0.......lets enjoy watching the kid put some K 0s on the board.

Neither of these guys have the frame to fight past 140. And neither are particularly well suited to hold at 130.

Not saying we should wait 8 yrs like we did for May/Pac, or an indefinite time to see Wilder fight a genuine contender.
Hell.....DelBoy was defending his EBU title vs Wilders LOC while he worked on getting the Fury rematch.

BUT.....Davis can get a few showcase Ws under his belt, while Loma settles an old score with Salido, makes a UNI fight with one of the other titlists, Davis a UNI fight as well, then a PPV for an undisputed SFW Champion.

If nothing else, Floyd and Bob know how to make millions......or billions when the event climbs to that plateau.

Yea 100% agree. Tank is a kid and this even compliments Loma's skill when Floyd basically says a talent like Davis ain't ready yet for Hi-Tech. There are others that can have that work. This fight will only get bigger and bigger, both can make a shitload of money in 3 years.

I don't see much of a problem. He's gotta make money too you know. Boxers got short, violent careers. If he's fighting bums a while from now, like Wilder, then that's different.

Loma gets a ton of credit for fighting who he's fought so early. He's one of a kind. But it's also about promotion, he's a good boxer and not a KO artist, without a mouth like Mayweather to promote him, and not being American, he has to fight and dominate to get known.

Unfortunately that's how it works. People buy into empty **** talk. They bought into it when Floyd was fighting, and were disappointed with almost all his fights. At least Gervonta, who by the way has the worst name ever, fights.

In the mean time just rematch Salido. He must do the rematch or be penalized in history. It's a must.

He can't do what Tszyu did with Phillips when he made a business decision thinking its better to move on rather than rematch Phillips.

Some of our greatest fights were rematches. Floyd did it, Pac did it, all of the greats pretty much did them.

Good points, except, What the HE double hockey sticks, is wrong with his NAME.

Gervonta....not much different than Deontay, and his initials are 7-4. GD.....Sixes flying high, the 5 must die.

    Gangstar Disciple muffukka.

2-7-4-14 all day. 11-9 murdertown, 2-6 Deep on the Dark Side.

we know Salido is trying to maximize his $$$$ on this rematch for the reasons you say, that Lomachenko will have that asterisk if he don't.

That said, HBO wants it, and have guaranteed a flat mil for that headline.

Bob simply needs to get the right venue and an inexpensive undercard, and he's still in the black while caving to Salido's 500K demand.

Plenty of decent names that could support a card in LA without hurting profits, and there are plenty of Mexican fans to fill the forum.

Just gotta bite the bullet one time for this fight, get his KO4, Salido WILL fold like a sheet of shiiter paper the moment he realizes he aint gonna foul his way to the bell.

Loma will hurt him upstairs downstairs and everywhere in between and won't take any punishment outside of the occasional sack-shot Salido gets home when he's holding to survive.

Loma KO3 in the rematch, gets his asterisk removed, then onto unification fights, maybe a 127 CW fight with Rigo, which would cement Lomachenko as a top ATG P4P, cuz he does everything Rigo does defensively just as well, but has an offensive flow that not even prime Donaire could touch.

Imagine if Loma took out Salido, beat the pi55 outta Rigo, then unified at 130, moved to 135 and conquered the best titlist in 2018, while Davis unified at 130, KOd Mares in a showcase, KOd Salido in a showcase, beat the pi55 outta Walters, then moved to 135 for a title in 2018, made a showcase defense, and in 2019, fought Lomachenko in a unification, possibly for the undisputed crown.........

THAT WOULD BE A MEGA EVENT........POSSIBLY ON THE LEVEL OF OL YELLA CANELHOE V GGG.
