Linares i feel is more proven.
But that is besides the point. The problem is that the top dogs at 130 didn't really want anything to do with Loma.

More proven by quantity not quality. Tank and Berchelt run through the levle of opposition Linares struggles with. Mitchell is a perfect example. Tank would have blasted that Filipino guy that gave Linares some issues too.

I agree no one wanted that work. Loma threatens those fools more than me and I hate that motherfudger.

Some fighters are happy to be the best they can at their comfortable weight classes, others are not content with that and go above their weight class, and seek out challenges that appear too great. That is what makes some fighters truly special. We see Garcia trying to do this with Spence. I hope to see Lomachenko move up to 140, just because I am a boxing fan and would like to see it, but if I were Lomachenko I wouldn't move up to 140.

He doesn't "want to see Loma lose so bad its pathetic..." That's not true, because he already has.

Most boxing fans are fairly shallow and want to see any and all fighters stretched and pushed past their limits, *just* to see what those limits actually are.... logic, career and health be damned.

Already undersized and underpowered and above your optimum weight? So what... nobody can beat you so you better move up or... well... then youre not REALLY chasing greatness.

    Its absurd.

Most disregard the fact that the vast majority of all weight jumps arent 'chasing greatness', but actually often due to fighters struggling to make the weight they are in, or being kicked out of the division with a loss. They also disregard that styles, dimensions and specific attributes play key roles in successful weight jumps, and what makes sense to do for one fighter doesnt mean it makes sense for another.

I dont blame the fighters one bit for looking down on and not caring what fickle and irational fans think.

Good post. The vast majority of world class fighters move up in weight because they cannot make the weight anymore. Or no longer want to go through such an agonizing weight cut.

Guys who move up in weight just because they are looking for more challenges are the exception.

130-135 is where he needs to stay IMO. Mainly 135 IMO.

Plenty of fighters move up for glory.
I just don't like fans cherry picking who has to move up.

Canelo is a perfect example, the guy is clearly a large 154lber and very average sized @ 160 @ 168 he is just pipsqueak yet he is not daring to be great fighting in that division?

If Canelo was still @ 154 he would be absolutely dwarfed by Jarrett Hurd.

Callum Smith would punch holes in him

Canelo should have just stayed @ 154 using the Lomachenko is smaller than Linares logic lol. Ffs Canelo looks like a 140lber compared to Jarrett Hurd. Canelo was much smaller than Liam Smith lol and did you see how small Liam was against Munguia?

Obviously Canelo has a lot bigger cajones than Lomachenko possesses lol.

Linares might have been a little bigger but he's a 140lber now. Obviously was struggling to make 135 himself. Lomachenko is by no means a tiny 135lber that is fantasy.

Loma is more than skilled enough to beat pretty much everyone currently at 140. However, at 147 I see him having a tough time with guys like Thurman, Crawford, and Spence. I think he would outpointing Danny Garcia as long as Danny doesn't connect with a flush left hook and even Porter, who's timing can sometimes be all over the place.

These same guys wanted Floyd to fight GGG and Martinez at 160 even though he can't even make 154.. He never weighed over 152 but fought the top guy there twice anyway and fought Cotto who later became the top guy at 160..
