Word is that Cotto is making more money in this fight than he has ever made in any one fight..including Pacquiao.

Because Manny can make a claim for deserving 50/50 and Cotto is going to be very happy showing up for whatever this career high payday will make him.

    *cough* Pac leftovers *cough*

I actually am looking forward to the fight though.

    Is it at 54?

It's not that simple. It's easy to negotiate a fight with someone who has significantly lower leverage. With or without Arum, Pacquiao was never gonna budge from the 50/50. As long as he's aware of his market value he would never bow down to Floyd lowballing him. Once they negotiate again for November, this will be the same issue---purse splits, and Floyd needs to understand he can't dictate Pacquiao's "fair" share.

We can try to make the case that it is Arum, but if Pac WANTED to fight could Arum seriously have kept up this charade this long? I doubt it.

If ANYTHING that Pac said to news media could be trusted this fight would have been made countless times before. From willingness to test to less than 50/50. Then on the flipside you have Arum not knowing who to call, but AFTER a fight announcement an ELABORATE story of secret negotiations and offers?

    GTFOH!

Even though you're right but Mayweather did contribute in ruining it with his demands.

Please. Arum and Pac have changed their story a million times.

Cotto is fighting at his desired weight. True to being a catch weight king, not only did Pac drain Cotto down the first fight. Pacfraud was going to drain him down AGAIN for this fight. Pac PURPOSELY and REPEATEDLY attempted to keep Cotto from being his best. This tells you Pac doesn't like "fair" fights and FURTHER explains Pac's ducking of Mayweather. :bart

Mayweather is fighting this version of Cotto at his best. Period. :deal

We'd probably be gearing up for the second or third stage of a Pac-Mayweather trilogy by now. **** Bob Arum, seriously.
