I am not a Bute nuthugger; far from it... I am criticised for being overly critical of Bute.

Secondly, your reading comprehension leaves much to be desired...

All it means is that it would allow Bute to face great comp sooner than later and if Bute wouldn't do it, then at least 90% of his fans would call him out on it...unlike certain fans of other fighters.....

I dont understand, how can Dirrell vs Ward NOT happen? i guess im kinda lost on this.

Isnt there some sort of contractual obligation here? Its hard to believe that Showtime would invest all that they have into this, for someone to be able to say.... 'naaaah, i dont feel like fighting this guy'.

I didnt realise there was a problem with Ward/Dirrell going on..... it seems far fetched to me that barring any medical reasons, that its a realistic option for a fighter and team to bail on the tourney without some major ramifications.

It's too late now. Either the tournament carries on and Bute faces the winner, or he fights the winner of Abraham vs. Froch, Dirrell or Ward. Either choice will do.

This is good reasoning, still.. if he's so supportive of the tournament he wouldn't be flagging such emoticons. If Dirrell-Ward is to be scratched, the whole of boxing would take a damaging blow, not just the division. A completely failed tournament would probably mean no more future tournaments with such big names involved.

If only boxing was the kind of business where contracts would be unbreakable, where champs would fights their mandatories, etc., etc.,... but it isn't...

I know he's a mandatory, but both you and me know he'd be able to vacate the belt, fight a significant super fight in Canada against Pascal and move down to face one of two eliminated tournament fighters early next year.

Still, Brinkley... makes sense doesn't it?

More like Kessler against Perdomo. Perdomo is the guy who had lost against Sartison.

    We can all laugh now.

I truly want to see Dirrell-Ward cause it would be great...as long as they can put their friendship aside for at least that 1 fight of course.

Then again, I'd be as happy to see either one face Bute cause it would be as good of a fight anyways.

They just need to keep facing the best possible challenges..that's all that counts !

After Brinkley, Bute is really gonna be walking on thin ice if he doesn't make every possible effort to secure a meaningful fight !!

As for future tournaments, they can't be as long !! 14 months tops, 8 fighters, quarters, semis & then final...that's it , that's all !!!
