If this tournament falls apart now, we may never see the european fighters fight the american fighters ever again. If anything, the fighters appear more jaded than ever of fighting overseas-(or in Ward's case out of Oakland).

It isn't. Their handlers agreeing on a venue in time for September 25th is all that's currently in doubt.

Everything else being bandied about is just cheap sensationalism and conjecture.

I hope not... but I said from the get go that the format was way too long and drawn out to pull off without major problems along the way.

What was Showtime thinking? Don't they pay attention to all the bull**** that goes along with getting fights made nowadays? Not to mention injuries etc... Even a single elimination touney would have be hard enough to pull off.

I ain't that smart... so why am I smarter than all the execs at Showtime? :huh

far as i can tell, if dirrell and ward man up and agree to a location, then bring on.

why wouldn anyone not want the fights to go ahead?

If can be salvaged. Just have Froch/AA. Dirrel/Ward. Then the winners of those fights duke it out for the championship.

It's been great. There have been some very enjoyable fights, it has been a shame that 2 of the boxers have had to withdraw but these things happen. I hope this type of event spreads to the other weights.

Dan Rafael is citing good sources saying both men don't want to fight eachother. The same rumor was on the forum 2 months ago. It's worth what it's worth but it's not only cheap sensationlism. Let's hope they decide the venue soon.

It's impossible to do it for the September the 25th date. It's in 3 weeks.

I hate how secretive boxing is sometimes, i wish dirrel or ward would just speak out on wtf is happening.

One things for sure as mentioned above, theres no way theyre fighting sept 25

As far as I know we're still getting the rest of the fights. Fine by me. Ward vs. Dirrell is one of the best matches I've been excited for, ever. Two young solid boxers with experience and youth on their side, at the peak of their physical powers. Then Abraham and Froch, two physically strong sluggers who only recently suffered their first defeats, barely. Man oh man, bring this the **** on.

These 2 had to have sparred eachother when they were both in the USA team, I don't know why they won't fight eachother, it's beyond stupid

If Dirrell - Ward doesn't happen, I'd be disappointed in both. They signed for the tournament, and Ward won his belt in the tournament. Can't just drop out now for no good reason.

I could not agree more. I don`t think most boxing fans appreciate this tournament.

Here you have six top guys, in whats becoming a very competitive division, all agreeing to fight each other. Yet what I hear most from people is "it won`t work" or "it`s done." I don`t get it, do we actually liked getting dicked around by Mayweather and Arum? I know I can`t ****ing stand the threads.

Dirrell, Ward and their promoters need to work this out. They have made a commitment and need to stand by it. Ward has already had two fights in Oakland, he can go to a neutral site. If Ward wins the tournament other fighters will have to come to him from then on. Same for Dirrell, nothing is wrong with Vegas.

Mr Showtime, why did you not invite Bute and Andrade to join your tournament? Were they not two of the six best? Then, when Taylor dropped out, why not invite Bika, for example? Was he not better than Green?

You pretended you were whiter than white, when in fact you lied to the casual fans about inviting the very best six. You didn't. You invited some of the very best, with the best promoters, and you sold them as THE very best to the public.

You've made your bed, now lie in it. When you promote unfairly, don't be surprised when real promoters outpromote you.

Boxing is a business, as you well know... You hustled until you got outhustled. Live with it.
