Round 2 Donaire comes out jabbing and Marquez clearly has to get inside if he stands a chance. Donaire using the left well, straight left and then a sharp left hook. Marquez isn't fazed though and comes back with a hook of his own. Bernstein just mentions Marquez changed trainers for this, now with Rudy Perez who trained Vazquez from the 2nd Marquez fight. Donaire is establishing his range in this round. Very quick jab being used effectively by the champion. 1-0-1 Donaire
1-1 Clear Donaire round, settled down boxing well at range. As the commentator said he's a master at distance, straight left looking sharp.
Tight 3rd round. I'd lean towards Marquez. Nonito looks nowhere near his usual self in ring awareness.
Round 3 Marquez starts the round with a very quick 1-2 that lands. Then a left uppercut and a jab. Looking very lively this round Marquez but Donaire sticks with the jab and has temporarily defused Marquez. I love how Donaire throws a left uppercut after the jab, very classy. Neither guy hs really being hurt so far and as I type that Marquez traps Donaire against the ropes and unloads some crisp, short punches! Donaire not really bothered though. Ooh nice left from Donaire that lands flush and Marquez comes back strong. I'm giving that to Marquez. More on his punches. 1-1-1
2-1-0 Donaire, landing the left regularly, looking for that left uppercut on numerous occasions. Boxing nicely despite doing the polar opposites of his 3 keys to victory
Round 4 Marquez doesn't seem that bad but I agree with Bernstein, if Donaire goes back to righty he chould **** this. Punch stats show Marquez has landed more jabs even though Donaire has thrown more. Quality punches from Donaire, straight left and then a left uppercut. Marquez doesn't seem hurt though. Marquez comes back with a left of his own! Bernstein is right again by saying Donaire isn't fighting tall like he usually does. Short, counter uppercut from Donaire again that Marquez walks into. Donaire finishes the rounds with a double jab that lands and a left that misses. 2-1-1 Donaire, some quality shots landed that round.
i got 39-37 donaire, he landed some good shots there especially two left uppercuts. hes putting more spite in his shots now it seems
3-1 Donaire, he's getting caught with a few stupid shots but still controlling things IMO. Not a fan of the southpaw stance though
Great left hand, RBR's are **** when Bernstein is on he takes away anything you pick up on and more and makes it sound like your copying him Donaire clear round 3-1
10-8 Donaire getting pissed with fighting southpaw. I can see Donaire taken him out in the next round.
