less calories will lose you weight, just make sure you eat good food to ensure it's fat loss and not just weight loss.
As the other dude said, at what point did I mention I was doing this solely for performance prior to your first comment? And why do I need to explain, it's there in black and white. I really don't know what you mean by hand holding, and I'm not insecure but so what if I was, it doesn't effect anybody here? It's an anonymous post looking for advice on making improvements to myself from people who probably know a lot more than me, sorry for seeking advice, I guess I really shouldn't. I ask a genuine question, looking for help from people who may be able to give it, and I get a guy making rash passive aggressive statements with the intention to be insulting, if people dont want to help then dont say anything at all just move on. I'm a young guy, still inexperienced within the sport I'm passionate about, so I come here to get some advice from people who have been involved way long than me, maybe before I was born. Damn, I wasnt asking for much, certainly not an argument.
