    before the fight, about 98% of boxing people, whether fans, fighters, pundits, trainers and so on had itauma as a massive favourite..
    the aftermath of the fight proves this..
    it went from pre-fight, itauma smashes him, knocks him into next week, to post-fight..to
    where did it all go wrong..
    and still!!!
    hrgovic isn't getting the credit he deserves!!!
    this is absolutely EPIC!!!!
    it's gone off the richter scale, and i love it

    I mostly go by our forum. Many people saw it similarly to me, with several even considering Hrgovic a favorite.

    i agreed with everything you said except that part
    before the fight, i went on a few youtube sites that were previewing the fight, saying that hrgovic was going to take him to a deep dark place, a place he's never been to before, and was ridiculed
    hrgovic didn't only take to a deep dark place,
    he not only took him into deep water
    he took him to the mariana trench

    Not at all - he won his title against an unqualified opponent and has a thin resume for a champion.

    He might prove more in time, but I don't see any less of the same limitations he's always had, just yet.

    Every champion starts off in the Martin/Stiverne bucket first time they win a belt - many stay there... We'll see if Hrgo is one of them in due course.

    I wonder when they petitioned the IBF to upgrade it to a world title fight if it was done with the intention of affording Hrgovic the opportunity of becoming the first Croatian HW champion or Moses the opportunity of become the 2nd youngest HW champ ever and Britain's youngest HW champ ever? :lol:

    Speaking of Hrgovic vs AJ here's AJ's promoter and former co-promoter of Hrgovic

    Er. Adeleye had one moment of success after being dropped and he went ham on Hrgovic with about 13-14 hooks and Hrgovic ate them all as if he was The Terminator and was back on the attack a second or two after

    Dubois beat Hrgovic on cuts and still couldn't come close to dropping Hrgovic when he was gassed

    Stick AJ in with Hrgovic, E-Hearn :D

    Back when Hrgovic was with E-Hearn

    Thanks. He was the individual and team champion in the WSB too and there was a lot of good fighters and top amateurs in the WSB and those were tough 5 rounders and I think 7 rounds for the individual championship final

    Shhhhh Serge! This is Eddies chance to feed AJ to the Croatian Terminator as a juicy title defense.

    I hope Hrgovic continues his upward momentum and has a few good scraps, pick up Gassievs title, avenges his loss to Dubios and gives us a war against Kabayel for potentially undisputed. Wouldn't that be something to really stick it to the current Divas in the division?

    Here's another one:

    Chris Byrd > Itauma

    Itauma couldn't even make it thru 9 rounds against a top-10 guy. He looked so bad in the ninth round, I don't know if he could ever do 12 against a top-10 opponent. I think that issue will crop up again. Southpaw Byrd fought top-10 guys with no apparent stamina issues from him. Yeah, Ibeabuchi did him.. but, hey.. Vitali didn't.

    Itauma did need more seasoning.. that probably should have already happened.

    i remember all of hearn's comments about hrgovic, since early on in his career
    he did nothing for hrgovic
    although i must say, in this day and age, champions aren't anywhere near as active as they used to be..
    it would've been interesting to see, if champions fought at least 4 times a year, and if fighters (contenders) were more active how things would've panned out for hrgovic..
    covid set back a lot of fighters, but i think it had a big impact on hrgovic as far as getting fights go..
    when he fought mark de mori, he got a lot of criticism for it, but needed to get in the ring..
    i'm more than certain that that was one fight that he definately didn't want, especially at that point in his career..
    even the demsey mckean fight..
    i'm sure he would've been thinking, how did that fight further his career..
    that's why with the itauma fight, and how it ended up being for the IBF title, it definately wasn't with the intention of hrgovic becoming champion..
    he was brought in to lose..
    it was with the intention of giving itauma the opportunity of fighting for the title, and becoming the second youngest heavyweight champ in history, the youngest ever british champion..
    the fallout since the fight, i absolutely love it..
    in all my time watching and following boxing (since 1984), i've never seen anything like it..
    it went, before the fight, itauma smokes him, knocks him into next week and so on, to where did it all go wrong..
    hrgovic is still getting minimal credit for his win..
    finally, after all these years, a promoter who did something good for hrgovic..
    although unintentionally

    WELL,,, judging by how Itauma was sucking air by the 5th round and literally passed out later I'd say his brother is lying.
