btw this might be a bit random, but Young-Foreman was not a fight that deserved to be fight of the year. the first half was terrible to be honest, the second half was a lot better but it left a lot to be desired overall.
It's one of the sole reasons nobody understood how horrendously and brutally badly SNV destroyed Holyfield.
Funny how when ali beats guys like Foreman and Lyle, they were world beaters, but when Young beats them, their plodding and dehydrated. Also, a past prime and problemed Young DID beat Occasio and Dokes.
NO one gives Ali credit for beating Lyle in a terrible bout that Lyle froze up .... and Young lost to Occasio twice, back to back, when he was in phis prime ... immediately after his loss to Norton ..
Ali was Lyles ***** until that premature stopage , though I give ali credit for those nice shots that got Ron in trouble. That kinda crap don't work with Jimmy Young though, you're not gonna hurt him. And also, Young did not lose to Occassio or Norten, and was certainly not the same fighter he was when he fought Ossie
1)lyle was clearly winning the fight before the stoppage 2)Young seemed hard to hurt sure, though foreman did manage it 3)He lost to all 3 though i admit i haven't watched any of the ossie fights so i have no idea how much of a "robbery" those are
What? Foreman was an actual world-beater no matter who's fighting him-but he didn't nearly die after the Ali fight and Lyle was never a world beater, regardless of who he's fighting. PLEASE look at my source. Source: actual history
and, like anal bleaching, i'm trying to be more open to it. i still don't think anal bleaching loses to gerry cooney, no matter HOW old he is
Young is way overrated. I was a fan back in the 70's but in truth he was a safety first boxer with no punch. He is not doing much with prime Louis who was not only a punching machine but truly one of boxing all time greatest boxers. Louis by ko within 5 rounds.
