    I remember Matthysse said that he wants to end his career (it was before Garcia fight), but he looks so happy after his wins, so i think he is still highly motivated

    Most fighters get up at 8. The guy was down for 5 seconds before he even counted pushing the machine back.

    Actually everything Kenny said (and I usually like him) is dead wrong.

    It was no "blown call", that was stupid of BK to say.

    Esteves - or any ref - is empowered to stop any contest any time using their judgment, and not required to follow any "rules" about whether a fighter's knee is on the canvas when they reach ten or any such arbitrary nonsense.

    Esteves used his judgment, that Ortiz between a) spitting out his gum shield and b) willingly staying down and riding the count so deep he didn't even start getting up until nine-and-a-half was hurt enough to be done. His prerogative.

    I'm in agreement with the commentator's on this one. The ref has a responsibility to the fans as well as the fighter's, if a fighter can continue he should be allowed to continue for himself and the fans. Just because a ref has the right to stop a fight doesn't mean he should, agreeing that it's ok for to stop a fight at 9 is the same as it at stopping it 8,7,6, etc. none of those numbers are 10, which is the only number that forces a stoppage.

    ortiz was on his feet before 10. it was a 2nd round body shot not 12 rounds of his head getting kicked in. you don't stop a fight like that. the guy got up in time, however close.

    Wtf, he was giving himself better air passage by removing the mouth guard.
    Did someone change the count rules to 8 or 9 without letting the world know.

    He was RECOVERED by the count of 5/6 so he should've got up at 8 anyways.
    No matter, two totally different level of fighter they were.

    All I wanted to see was lm take a clean shot and not be hurt.

    Maybe next fight
