Your two main points here to substantiate this being a discredit to Bute seem to be Golovkin's size and the headgear.

Yes, Golovkin is smaller. He competes in a lower division - 8lbs away. He could also probably compete and be a beast at 168, and likely will someday. That's just a technicality, what they weigh in as pros currently. If your point was about the four inches in height, well a shorter man with a good punch can knock someone out just as easily a taller man. I'm sure Frank Bruno isn't more embarrassed about a KO loss to Tyson than one to Lewis because of height.

As for the headgear, if you saw where the punch landed you'd know that the headgear was a non-factor. It's kind of disingenuously pointless to even bring that up. The impact of a punch landing bang on an exposed chin is going to be the same whether or not somebody has cushioning around the top and sides of their skull.

Can Bute be knocked out? Sure...by a good puncher who is able to catch him very clean with something big.

Is that a likely scenario with any of the competition on the horizon for Bute? More immediately, is it a likely scenario with Miranda? Nah...

Berrio's a really good sparring partner for a Miranda fight. I'm surprised he's still around. He's disappeared since his loss to Bute. Was supposed to fight Shumenov like a year ago, but that fell through.

I agree that it was an awesome opportunity for Miranda. We would surely be seeing an IBF/WBO unification bout! Instead of fulfilling his dream of becoming a champion by beating Stieglitzkxjjsfh (it hurts my brain to type this name correctly! lol), he is forced to fight Bute with little to no chance to win.
