The data that wikipedia and boxrec have on his reach are incorrect : Against Zuniga, showtime listed Bute's reach as 72". In the first fight against Andrade it was listed as 74". The 70" of reach listed on Box Rec is obviously a mistake HBO they gave the arm length (24") The reach on his site says 27.5'' http://fightnights.com/boxers.php?id=446 Reach: 35" (arm length) Quote: Andrade, 28-1 (21), from Mexico will enjoy a two inch reach advantage, but will he be able to keep the constant pressure from Bute, off him? end Quote bottom of the page http://boxinggreats.multiply.com/notes?&page_start=60 Andrade is listen on wikipedia with 78″ / 198cm reach [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Librado_Andrade[/ame]
Interesting. nobody seems to know what Bute's reach is. If a fighter has an arm length of 35. What would be his reach?
Regardless he's still giving up inches to Martinez, however calling him T rex arms probably isnt accurate if its atleast 72 inches. We've seen him beat the **** out of guys who cant box on the outside. I'd like to see how he fairs against a slick outside boxer.
Martinez is 5'11 a natural JMW and at best a MW. Lucian Bute is 6'2 and is capable of fighting at LHW or SMW. Bute by KO, Martinez is just too small.
I would rather see Paul Williams go against Lucian Bute. Why would we want to see Martinez go at Bute even though he has the titles, he's not going to be the biggest challenge for Bute because Bute will knock him out. Williams on the other hand has a better chin and throws enough punches that he would make for an exciting fight. Bute could probably land a good shot on Williams but Williams appears to have a very good chin so if it goes 12 Williams would have every advantage. Other than that Williams wont have any fights left after Cintron and I don't think Cintron has what it takes to beat Williams. I think Williams is going to easily knock Cintron out.
Acording to pantera2000 official HBO measurements of the arm lengths of both fighters are 25" for Bute and 26" for Miranda(reach 77½″ /197cm)http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=37138&cat=boxer I have no idea.
Martinez is a middleweight, he just outclassed the middleweight champion of the world, and looked good doing it. atsch He's been fighting at 154 for 10 years. Probably outgrew the weight. Looked good against Williams at the weight. Looked good against Pavlik at the weight. I see no reason why he shouldnt be classed as a full fledged middleweight. And I doubt Bute is 6'2. Looks more like 6'1 at the most. Seeing how this guy doesnt have any reliable measurements.
Yeah i think boxrec is giving bute 188 cm and he probably have 185cm but those cm can be explained by his giraffe like neck Martinez looked small to me comparing him with Pavlik.
He does have a weird ****ing body. He has a long midsection and neck. When he's fighting his arms are real low because of this, probably why his uppercut is so effective.
