MrTragic is well known for bashing Bute. Because of him I bash Froch from time to time since Froch is his Hero. :D

. It never gets boring on here.
Froch and Bute are both fighters that seem to have peoples attention, and both fighters whos careers I follow.
Froch has been willing to fight on the road and has some bigger names on his resume with Pascal and Taylor, but Id say overall its close between them

Their resumes are on a similar level to each other if you only go by their victories. I'd still put Bute's best wins ahead of Lacy's. I'd say guys like Andrade, Bika, and Berrio rate higher than Tyspko, Reid, and Vadnerpool. But when you factor Lacy's losses, including how one-sided they were then I'd say Bute clearly has a better resume than Lacy.

Stieglitz already turned down a seven figure payday to fight Bute, which would have been by far the biggest of his career.

I don't think anyone ducked the other one between Bute and Froch, but at the end of the day the fight didn't make sense under the circumstances (Bute had to rematch Andrade, Froch got the SS offer), so it didn't happen. I still don't fault Bute for not facing a top guy at this point. If he still hasn't in a year or two, then I'll start blaming him.

    He did not, sorry.

Lacy has always been overrated, and only now is being rated correctly, as the slow, plodding, never-was that he truly is.

Lacy had some very difficult moments in several of his fights before Calzaghe. With the benefit of hindsight there were too many signs of poor defense and one dimensional offense.

Bute had only one really bad moment and that was in final seconds against Andrade. Beyond that the way he defeated his opponents was more thorough and far less difficult.

I can excuse my being a bit deluded about Lacy because he's from hometown area and I was more hoping than analyzing. But two things that I did know about was Lacy had shoulder problems way before the Tsyspko fight and he was too often getting schooled in sparring sessions by slicker fighters.

Lacy only lost when prime to Calzaghe, after that he injured his shoulder and was done for. You forget also that Manfredo was a higher rated fighter than Brinkley

Wasnt aware Steiglitz was made such an offer, do you have a link. Id be surprised if Steiglitz was offered a 7 figure pay day in $s

I'd agree that the Calzaghe loss was when Lacy was at his best but a couple of his better wins-Tyspko and Manfredo were after that fight so its not like he was was totally done after the Calzaghe fight. I didn't mention Manfredo because I only named off what I thought were arguably their 3 best wins each. I would put Manfredo on par with the Miranda that Bute beat anyways and I didn't mention Miranda either.

It dosent say 7 figure offer, but does say that Steiglitz turned down Bute for whatever reason. Shame as that would have been a good match for both. I wonder what Steiglitz real reason was, as he isnt the type of fighter to not put himself forward
