    Chisora absolutley agree 100%

Ortiz - Jennings and thompson both pre-drug scandal so hmmmmmm (and im using wilder fans reasoning here)... Hammer????? The one who feather fist Fury (more drugs) beat up??? again hmmmm

Rivas - Jennings..... I could let this one go, out of favour ofcourse bro

Povetkin and Wlad were top 5 contenders according your loved ring magazine when AJ stopped them.

    Also Jennings top 5 contender?:applaudit:

Oh right, AJ stopped old ass Povetkin in the fight before his quit job. Wlad was inactive.

You can check The Ring ratings for Jennings. I just state the facts.

So you use Ring magazine to suit your agenda. Its accepable that they Ortiz in the top 10 and Jennings in the top 5 but not Wlad ( the former unified champ going into his last fight ) and Povetkin (a former WC in a good run of wins since losing to wlad) in the top 3.

Ain't Ortiz' fault that Wilder fights the likes of Breazeale. But with his 10 defences and the fight against Fury, Wilder can be seen as legit champ. And Ortiz showed that he can compete for title fights. With possibly one shot away from the title in the first fight, he is certainly far above top 300 fighters. And in the second fight, he outclassed the champion aswell.

High risk low reward to all those others who avoid Ortiz. Chisora, Parker, Pulev, Whyte... I mean Whyte calls out Ruiz, Povetkin and even Wallin. Who wants it can get it? If Hearn made a public offer, Whyte-Ortiz, fight in the UK, 3 months in advance, 50/50 split, maincard of the evening and team Ortiz refused it, I would shut my mouth. But those negotiations that we never see give both parties reasons to blame each other for fights not happening. And Hearn is involved in a couple of fights not happening.

Refusing the Joshua fight has two explanations that convince me. First, it was a fight at short notice. You don't fight Joshua at short notice. You want full preparation for a fight of that magnitude. Especially if you see how meticulously Ortiz prepared for Wilder-Ortiz 2. Second, most likely, the Wilder-Ortiz 2 fight has been done behind the scenes already and built up. So he couldn't accept the offer.

    Same what I belive above.

By no means do I want to say that Ortiz is arguably the best out there. But Ortiz does not get the chances to prove himself. He beats all bums with ease, loses to the champion by showing a great performance and people call him off as if he's 70 years old. Current boxing just doesn't give him a chance that he deserves in my eyes. I praise Wilder for giving him the two fights and having balls to call Ortiz out.

So, Ortiz is somewhere at the top and we could see so many good match ups with him until he retires, but possibly we won't, which is sad for boxing.

Povetkin was third with Ring when AJ KOed him.

Wlad was too. He may have been 2nd, I forget.

Not to undermine a good argument, or pick holes in a good post but imo Fury is lineal.

From my understanding of how the lineage works is that if a champ who retires comes back, he's still lineal. When the top 2 fighters fight and make a new lineage, that's when the retired fighter losses his status.

If Lewis comes back, he wouldn't be lineal as the top 2 fighters already fought and made a new lineage. The top 2 never fought after Fury retired, and now he's back, he's still lineal.

Is Ortiz lack of a great resume all his own doing or were there fighters that chose other options? Or a little of both?

Has to be ortiz fault when you consider he turned down offers to fight the likes of Whyte (2m) and AJ (over 5m).

    Whyte ducked him twice.

Wilder paid him more than Joshua and allowed a full camp.
