My dude's making a comeback next April (on a random Prague undercard) - just a few months before his 47th birthday! :scared1

I was a big fan of Konečný in his pomp - very tough 2nd-generation fighter with solid fundamentals and excellent inside work/body punching. In the biggest moments of his career he fell short - against Piccirillo, Dzinziruk, Baysangurov, and Kid Chocolate - but he was a beast at European level and really all the way up to fringe world class.

He's arguably the GOAT of the Czech Republic in both professional boxing and amateur* - where he suffered only 25 defeats in 257 contests. One of those defeats was against Mikkel Kessler, which is very high on my "rare footage wishlist".

*IMO he's the clear p4p best of their seven Olympians, closest competition being Rudolf Kraj.

He's been working as a coach/promoter/matchmaker/official for over a decade now, and has only fought twice in the nearly eleven years since the loss to Peter Quillin. I was surprised to learn he was successful in the first leg of his comeback - and even more so to find that he fought again in 2021 and is still banging on, way at light heavy. Hope he doesn't get hurt, and wonder what it'll take to get him to finally call it a day.

The opponent is Tomáš "Tommy El Magico" Bezvoda, who is ten years younger and a natural 175lber with a 17-24-2 record (11 wins and four losses by stoppage).
