i was very confident ajose was going to win that fight. i did not think lundy was capable of putting on a boxing clinic like that.
Lundy is a solid fighter, capable of competing with almost anyone. He has 2 issues, sometimes he loses focus and gets caught, other times he is too brave for his own good and tries to return fire with fire, even though he is outgunned. He should stick with being a boxer.

Great? He looked vastly improved from his last couple of performances (especially the listless stinker against Postol) but I'd stop well short of saying he looked great. Olusegun met him more than halfway looking very poor by his own standards. His plan A didn't work and he just stuck with it stubbornly, diving in with those body combos even though Lundy had them scouted and was using the shoulder roll and backward twist/lean to deny him pretty much anything clean. The counters were fast and crisp, and the shot placement was savvy - I'll give Hank that. He also does seem to have carried some pop up to 140. Calling out Matthysse and Garcia, though? The dude is delusional. Even the form he showed last night against Olusegun wouldn't be enough to beat either of them - and there is still a chance he doesn't even bring that (if he reverts to Postol form he gets KTFO in swift& brutal fashion) ...at the end of the day, I give him a solid B+ for last night. Had Olusegun been more game & versatile/adaptable I might nudge that up to A-. He is still perhaps the best switch-hitter in the game - that is, the most seamless in transitions and the best at utilizing his "weaker"/less natural stance to great effect. So there is plenty of positive takeaway for Lundy from last night. Let's just not say he looked "great"...or indulge him thinking he is ready for murderer's row.
I understand what you mean but I'm glad he's calling those fighters out. He wants to fight the best and not feed on bums. Thats how it should be.
I would easily take a Lundy vs. Molina rematch right now. That's a solid FNF main event. Its another cross roads match for each fighter. One would advance into contention the other into oblivion.
Yeah, I almost wonder if last night was orchestrated between Burchfield & Goossen (promoters of Lundy & Molina respectively) to set up a rematch if both came through, despite being on completely separate unrelated shows. Both were headlining nationally televised North American cards on the same night - and both are on the comeback trail...and Molina vs. Lundy I had rematch written all over it.... It all seems too perfect. :yep Had Bey & Olusegun not been so badly abused, one might almost start conspiracy-theorizing about them having been paid off to dive.
