Who has Maccaranelli fought so far?Where has he fought other than Wales?Wayne Braithwaite his best opponent other than all the other bums he beat, he got beat by Mormeck in the USA.Haye just gone and flattened him on his own patch,Mormeck beat for only once in 10 years!!Not only is David Haye a much better fighter he makes Macranelli look as interesting as a sack of spuds.

haye had to lose around 2 stone (?) to make cruiserweight. he's been saying for about 18 months that he'll move straight up to heavyweight after winning the cruiserweight title. he is just does not think he can fight at 100% at cruiser.

so why should he kill himself to stay at cruiserweight. macca is not ducking haye, and haye is not ducking macca. the fight just didn't happen because of a promotional dispute.

what's wrong with some of you guys?

Haye accepted to fight Macarinelli before Warren made sure the fight didn't happen by being unreasonable in embryonic negotiations. That suggested that a) he wanted to make sure the fight didn't happen and b) he's not confident Maca would win if the fight did happen.

as for Macarinalli, he seems happy to go along fighting stiffs and build them up as something they're not. He's a fraud as things stand. I guess he knows his limitations and that's why he doesn't rock the boat when Warren gets him these shitey opponents.

considering the fights these 2 have taken, it seems laughable that some of you guys are implying Haye is the ducker and Maca is the one chasing down the big challenge.
    Mindboggling.

I think the reason people are pissed off is that Haye has been absolutely consistent in his position for a long time. He has said that he is very tight at the weight (I don't think he's "pretending") and that once he has fought "the man" (which turned out to be Mormeck but could have been Bell had Bell won) for the titles he would move up to heavy.

When the fight was there to be made earlier this year Warren insisted on options on Haye's next five fights. Haye said at the time that there wouldn't be another opportunity as he was fighting for the big titles and then moving up.

So now that Enzo says he wants to fight Haye at cruiser, knowing that Haye is moving up, people give him abuse because the fight could have been made before and wasn't due to his promoter's demands and Enzo knows that Haye has stated for 18 months that he struggles to make the weight (he took 5 months to get there this time) and so will be moving up once he's become "the man" at the weight.

Enzo's not getting **** for asking for the fight, he's getting **** for his promoter stopping the fight happening when it could have been made.

Haye is bound to be popular with boxing fans as he has done what most boxing fans claim to like and moved quickly along a broadly traditional route. He won the English cruiserweight title in his 8th fight, fought Carl Thompson in his 11th, won the European title in his 16th, positioned himself in the WBC rankings, fought an eliminator in his 18th fight and has now won the WBC, WBA and Ring titles in his 20th fight aged 26.

Compare that with Enzo who has taken the (unpopular with boxing fans) Warren route of WBU in his 15th fight, defending against nobodies and then winning the WBO in his 26th against Mark Hobson who he'd already beaten earlier that year. With the subsequent joke fights against Gunn and Azzaoui it's easy to see why Enzo gets ****.

Hopefully he'll be able to make some meaningful fights in the future and Warren can give him his own card rather than putting him on Calzaghe undercards, meaning that he's only got pennies to spend on his opponent.

the difference between haye and macca is their respective managers. maloney gives his fighters the matchups they ask for, even if he thinks they might lose. warren doesn't take risks.

i don't like the way macca plays along by building up hopeless opponents but at the same time i do want him to succeed and give him the support i give to all british fighters.

i think the problem with macca's last opponent was basically because the fight was just a supporting act to calzaghe-kessler. hopefully macca will headline the show for his next defence and fight someone appropriate for a main event.

I have to agree with this chap.

Enzo seems to want the fight now but when Haye agreed to the fight Warren who had previously said he didn't want options as he was so sure Macca would ice Haye demanded just that - options. Hardly the sign of a confident promoter.

Enzo seems OK as a person but his competition really is disgraceful...i was pissing myself laughing reading about him trying to pass off that old guy Enzo Sellers highlight reel of knockouts as being "frightening" viewing as if he was some feared knockout artist that Macca was being brave in fighting ! Yea George Foremans knockouts from the 70s are terrifying but i doubt Wlad would lose any sleep over fighting him now !

Having said all this i do think it would be great for British boxing if the fight did take place and would be a cracking fight and not a foregone conclusion by any means...but Enzo had his chance and Warren ****ed it up...so no one can blame Haye for going to heavy i don't think.

More FW's fault, he is the one who wanted options on DH.

Enzo could have boxed DH if FW had not got his knickers in a twist over options.

But that is the usual story with FW, he will only get his finger out of his ar$e when a fighter threatens to leave him (eg Hatton).

Exactly, maybe Enzo should have forced the issue with Frank if he wanted to fight Haye so badly

Its quite funny how some people on this thread are trying to critise Haye saying Enzo calls him out and his "ducking" enzo, But when Witter calls out Hatton..he has a big mouth etc.

Every man and his dog knew Haye had trouble making the weight, He even agree to put his WBC/WBA number ranking to fight Enzo maccarinelli in Cardiff
but somehow the not so confident Warren wanted options.

I dont see the point in him fighting Maccarinelli at a disadvantage by staying and fighting him at crusierweight and Enzo has said he doesnt want to give away 2 stones in fighting Haye at heavyweight..So fight dead.

Exactly!! Neither fighter is to blame if they don't fight at the same weight anymore.

so lets get this right...some of you are suggesting that hayes move up to heavyweight is a 'convenient' excuse for not fighting enzo....****, haye has been saying he would move up after his title fight, win, lose or draw, for months now...and your surprised when he announces thats exactly what he is doing....do you think even going t6o cardiff to fight enzo would faze a guy who has just gone to a teak tough, if ageing, champions backyard and audaciously picked his pocket for the belt....im yet to be convinced that hayes fragile chin is due to him being weight drained, but lets give him a chance..my initial thoughs on hearing of his hw asspersions was..herbie hide....big hitter, fast, chinny...and you know what, even if that proves to be the case, so what...its gonna be a helluva ride....no reason why enzo cant step up and clean up the cruiserweights globally....who knows, a fight at 15st or 15st4lb might be a possibility with haye if the money is right....??....i fancy haye to stop enzo, but in a torrid affair where heart rules head.....sure haye may be fragile, but so is enzo......hayes achievment last night ranks up with benns smash n grab in italy as a huge british overseas success...lets be happy for the kid, and proud he is a bona fide world champ with charisma and power...why do we always knock sucess at the first possibel opportunity...i think, and hope that haye could possibly win a portion of the hw title.......but the top guys at hw will be to much for him...but timke will tell....

Enzo seemed like quite a likeable bloke, but all he's doing is using what was a true world title fight as a means to promote himself. He wasn't calling Haye out in the summer, he only started making noise recently as last night's fight approached. At the start of the year Haye said specifically that if this fight was going to happen, it had to happen in April, instead Enzo fought Gunn.
Even if Haye did say yes to a fight with Enzo at cruiser, that's no guarantee that it would happen. If Enzo's saying Haye's pulled out of a fight twice all ready, why wouldn't he be prepared to say it again.
Haye can now go on to make a noise at HW, while Enzo can continue to work his way through FW's 'Bumper book of bums'.

Yep, he's a two faced arse licker who talks absolute crap. He claimed Haye was a natural fighter, unlike Lennox Lewis. He is a gargoyle faced ****wit.
