Maccarinelli fighting with the doctors on the floor

What did you make of that ?

I thought it was a sad and somewhat distressing scene.

The guys got plenty of heart - and he deserves alot of praise for his courage he displayed - he went out on his shield.

Its a shame the ref was just as brave as him - letting him go on in that state.

But I thought he was foolishly prideful to fight the doctors doing their work when he was on the floor. they were trying to put the oxygen mask on him and he was repeatdely fighting them off and also trying to drag himself up off the canvas before his body had even the strength to recover.

It just makes me wonder - how will this loss effect his pride / mentality ?

And what will he say or do in relation to the future in or out of the sport ?

 

Its hard to understand what goes through a fighters mind at that point.
Brutally ko'd in what was his last shot at breaking back into the big time.
Very sad for such a great guy.
I'm sure that he will be ok though Flint...he is a top bloke and i'm sure he won't be doing anything as stupid as Hatton has since his own brutal KO!

I reckon Enzo will be doing plenty of studio work with Sky and surely some training with up and coming prospects in the gym.

Enzo is a good guy so will be fine.

To be honest i dont think he was really with it at the time. his head was probably still adj-usting and coming too and he was probably confused as to why the **** he was surrounded by so many people shoving things in his face.

 

Warren has said that Enzo is retiring and that he will help Enzo with promotions in Wales. Or something similar.

very prideful guy to the point of being foolish.

I remeber when David Haye lost to Carl Thompson he had no problems having a oxygen mask put to his face to aid his recovery.

 

It was quite disturbing, Enzo refusing the oxygen with blood splattered on the canvas. He probably didn't even know what was going on at the time.

I dont think Enzo really had much of a clue as to what was happening tbh

 

I wonder if the Cruiserweight Weight Limit being increased, has affected Enzo Mac at Cruiserweight.

It's went from 13 stone 8, to 14 Stone 4 pound.

Thats a big difference, he was fighting much bigger men.

And Enzo Mac had always made the 13 Stone 8 limit easy...

 

Seemed to me that Enzo just wanted to get up, as if it was somewhat embarrassing to be on the floor with an oxygen mask on. However when he did finally get up, you could see he was still on shaky legs. Truly devastating knockout. Quite hard to watch really.

 

If a fighter wants to get up, they should let him get up.

It's like when Larry Holmes was knock down by Mike Tyson, then sat on his ****ing chest and he wanted to get up aswell.

Pathetic.

 

You do read of some fighters getting knocked out and coming to still thinking they are in the fight, in his dazed state he may have thought he was still fighting off Frenkel

Disturbing to see really, and a candidate for KO of the year methinks, his head nearly swivelled off its axis when that last punch landed, nasty

 

I think that the last brutal punch that finished was only allowed to happen because Enzo is a Frank Warren fighter - he probaly thought he was doing Enzo a favour by allowing him to continue - but it was needless career ending finish he suffered there.

 

Yeah it was horrible, didn't need to take that.

You see some horrible early stoppages around these days, but a late one is alway 10 times worse

 

I thought Sky should maybe have cut away from it rather than showing him like that for so long. It was disturbing to watch
