Fair enough. The vacant WBO title is being contested by two very promising fighters, Alexeev and Banks.

Hopefully Frank W brings an opponent in that will test Macca a little. I know, that's not how things work though, as regardless what title he'll be fighting for aferward, no one in the UK risks their ranking. I'm expecting Enzo to beat a very easy opponent.

Jeff will need tips from James Toney to get the weight on quickly but sensibly.

I totally understand the notion that money will prevent Enzo from getting a decent opponent.

Problem is, without a few half decent fighters (at least) how will he ever be built up enough to raise enough cash to fight someone good?

the problem is Enzo blew his big oppurtunity

if he had KO'd Haye he could have geniunely claimed to be the best crusierweight in the world

now sadly some people are calling him rubbish

I still think he is a good fighter but there is no denying his big chance for real recoginiton turned into a nightmare

Must admit I think the treatment of Big Mac has been quite harsh. Haye banged him and his glove touched the canvas - he didn't get a count thus was pummelled to a stoppage. An 8-count there might have saved him and then at the very least he had a punchers chance against Haye.

I just don't understand why Warren is being so conservative with Mac. He is likeable, has a good draw in Wales and can bang - don't put him up against a belt-holder right after that defeat but putting him in with a bum? Nobody wins!

If Mormeck hasn't retired he would be a great shout surely? If he wins Enzo knows he's got his rep back and could engineer a fight against Cunningham. If he loses...well Warren can put him against bums until some even bigger bum flukes a title and Mac can get another shot!

Enzo Macc seems to be a fairly decent fighter, but let's be honest about it, he was utterly crushed by Haye.
An eight count would have simply meant the fight lasting eight seconds longer than it actually did.

Gunn will have to get through a togh test with James Morrow first(www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=224176&cat=boxer)

To put things into perspective, Gunn recently drew with Cory Pehlps .
Phelps was stopped in 2 rounds by Irish Middleweight Joe Rea.........and Rea isn't even a half decent prospect, he's a club fighter himself .

Although with that said Gunn should probably be a middleweight himself and he was robbed of a win against Shelby Gross, a guy with an apparently okay looking record but is actually terrible .

But the WBO isn't the only one who sanctions Bobby Gunn's, here is the WBC's lighter and Frencher version http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=14148&cat=boxer, although to be fair he did once hold the French Flyweight title .

Putting that french bloke in with Mijares is probably equal with putting Bobby Gunn in with prime Holyfield at crusierweight.

WTF were the WBC on when they made that one?? Shocking.

Before the David Haye fight how many here considered Enzo Maccarenelli to be the best Crusierweight in the World?

And do you agree with Maccarenlli's claim that no other fighter could claim to be the best Crusierweight in the World unless they had beaten him?

Enzo was NEVER considered the best cruiser in the world. Before the Haye fight, Haye himself was the best cruiser in the world. Enzo was ranked something like 3 or 4 by Ring Magazine before his fight with Haye.

Enzo had picked up a vacated WBO belt and had defended it against nobodies so to allege that nobody could claim to be the best Crusierweight in the World unless they had beaten him is bull****.

could well be that they knew about the calzaghe fight in september - so fighting a bum in july to shake off a little rust then onto a big / title fight on the undercard of JC/JJ fight? maybe im just being overly optimistic
