    "Heard from Richard Schaefer confirming that Macklin pulled out of the April 16 fight against Gevor and has been offered a shot at Sturm this summer."

    Wonder if he'll take it, would have to be in Germany I guess.

    I said that macklin wouldnt have pulled out of the Gevor fight unless he was sure of a title shot, and i was right:good

    Macklin has a good shot, thought Sturm looked completely ordinary against Gevor and Lorenzo and has lost a step. Didn't watch against Hearns Jr. but I imagined he looked less than great. The fact that Macklin would need to win decisively would be his biggest obstacle I'd imagine.

    It would be impossible to get a decision over in Germany against a guy of Sturm's stature, Macklin must win by KO.

    He might have been a bit rusty in the early rounds against Lorenzo.I thought he looked good in his fight with hearns, Sturm controlled the fight. Sturm's jab is very good, he should beat Macklin, but it wont be one-sided.
