you cann judge GGG's performance against another elite fighter. Maybe he didnt come in mentally prepare or maybe his style was just to much to handle. Its all different...I think GGG is up there in the elite category where fighters would dodge him as much as possible. I dont think he should go up in weight yet.

    Wow Kirk. Pwnt.

Regardless, and I'm Golovkins biggest fan, this wasn't a true test. Macklin is very good but not *that* good. He's someone the belt holders pick as opponent and for a reason. His best fight is a KO loss in fact.

To think that I was finally right about something...

I agree with you actually. I don't think it was the test it was made out to be, I really like Macklin, but hes a level below the best. I just wanted to point out that many people did think this good matchup (which it was, despite the outcome) and would be a good test for G.

The truth is, given G's apparent level as a fighter, his true test wont come until he fights an elite, or a very very good durable, strong opponent, who he wont be able to overpower.

Basically, if any new fighter looks great, they're too good to be true, over rated, not tested, etc.

That's just how fight fans are.

Yes, I agree. A question is perhaps if Golovkin was underrated or Macklin overrated. I think it's a bit of both for most individuals. But either which way, Golovkin exceeded most people's expectations and that can only be good.

Golovkins fight with Ouma showed he is nothing more than a brawler with zero defense. Ouma was able to hit him at will until he got tired.

I'm not saying he is proven at the highest elite level yet, but i don't think he will end up like Bute. But with that being said only Martinez (If he still got it) can show whether GGG belongs at the highest tier. Chavez Jr. & Quillin are nothing but hype jobs, Chavez will soon move up and face Andre Ward and get exposed badly

He's not tested yet because all of the "tests" refuse to fight him.
