I went, AWESOME night I must say. I was dissapointed with the Brook Jennings fight which i thought was an anti climax, but apart from that it was very good. Unfortunately I happened to be sat right near the welsh and Birmingham following just as the riot kicked off in the stands, saw awesome knock outs inside and outside of the ring. That Enzo KO was absolutely brutal and the most devastating one ive witnessed in person. I was the biggest birmingham city fan in the world last night, I genuinly feared for my life last night with the way the zulu army was kicking off in the stands, a few of the welsh got absolutely leathered and one fell into some steel railings and the sound of his head against the metal wont leave me for a while! Cleverly was awesome! What a fighter! Brilliant night. :bbb
Thats what ruins boxing shows, people wanting a scrap of there own, why cnt you go have a few beers and leave?
Worst thing was they all missed the Enzo KO in the process. Another thing i picked up on last night was how many people were just walking out half way through a fight, why pay 40 quid to sit in the bar all night and not get your moneys worth action wise?
That happens on every card Charlie. I was at Haye-Enzo and they had to close the bars at the O2 to get people in for the chief support bout which was the very decent Mitchell-Johannsen, even then people were moaning like **** about not being able to get a beer.
I fear that big shows with football fans will continue this utter bollocks...:yep It happened at Katsidis v Mitchell, I saw Swansea and Cardiff going at when Calzaghe fought Mitchell. And now, we find this **** resurects itself in Birmingham...:fire I can see an alcohol ban lurking round the corner at boxing events if this bollox carries on... It won't be enforced by the BBBoC, it will be the Police...:yep
Were did you sit mate I was near there as well. I didn't give the scrap much attention I saw it kicking off but after a quick watch I went back to watching the ring and saw the ending of the Enzo fight.
It was pure mayhem in those stands and inevitable for it to kick off, they were like a pack of wolves when it kicked off the guy in the green top standed no chance before getting KO'd by some big black youth who just stepped up to the plate and 1 hit KO'd him into some steel railings before melting back into the crowd, security were helpless to do anything about it for about 2-3 minutes. There were lasses in that section of the crowd and old people so that part of things was just horrible. I've been to a few boxing events before but i've just begun to pick up on certain things about so called 'casual' fans that attend these events. I dont even know why half of them go? Amazing when one guy came up to me and with a genuine as hell tone in his voice asked me if that 'Amir Khan Bloke' was fighting. hahaha.
