If thats true, thats a disgraceful matchup. He got SHUTOUT by Devon Alexander at 147 so that equals a shot at the 154 title?

Ok so Maidana is a better fight than any of these:

    Trout
    Molina
    Martirosyan
    Lara
    Lopez

    Not really

Normally I would be angry about the weight difference here, but Maidana is the one who asked for this, claiming the weight wont be an issue for him.

If Maidana does in fact have no issues with the weight (which I doubt) it could be a fun fight to watch.

I'm going to think wishful here and say that I'm excited for this match up.

    Alvarez Tko10 Maidana

    War Chino!!!!! :bbb

Although I'm happy with Chino getting the fight HE wanted, I see Alvarez vs Lara or probably any of the above mentioned being way more competitive.

I just am a big Maidana fan, and would love to see an upset, or even Maidana pull a Morales on Alvarez even if he (Marcos) loses.

I think he just wants a bigger payday. H eknows he wont get that at 147. Either way I wish him well. I hope he proves me wrong( I see him losing pretty easily).

Lopez and Maidana have no business at 154lbs!

GBP is desperate to go up against TR for Sept. 15 and they have failed miserably.
