The method he employed to provoke during the middle of the fight I thought was pretty badass. Blatantly obvious, but not blunt.

I really hate the fact that Maidana has a habit of dropping his hands to fix his trunks. It irks the hell out of me because they don't need to be adjusted. Other than that gotta admire his mental fortitude. I also like how he doesn't tap gloves before a fight. Nothing wrong with wanting to go to war your opponent before and after the first bell rings. The sportsmanship conduct should come after the fight.

Maidana can go 30 rounds with a Bear and the Bear will be the one backing up.

Cortez should be ashamed for taking a point away from Maidana for a dreamed up elbow that did not land. Cortez took a point away from Hatton for accidently hitting a ring rope also! Is Cortez a crook?

He's a dirty fighter, throwing ****ing elbows and low blows... rabbit punches, punching on the break.. jesus christ he is a ****ing dirty fighter...

I agree that he is a warrior, and that he is as tuff as they come, but he was getting frustrating by his in ability to Hurt Khan, and he lost concentration. He rocked Khan with his best punch, and followed up by landing many many more power punches over the course of the round... Khan weathered the storm and won the fight, period...

You give Maidana credit for being a great fighter, and yet you won't give credit to the guy who just beat him... a 24 year old who has so much potential.

****ing pathetic to blame it on Cortez, a ***** move from a ***** like yourself ( exactabox)

Where was the dirty fighting? Nobody said anything about low blows and the only reason he hit Khan in the back of the head is because Khan kept bending down to waist level and turning around! Between the two fighters Khan seemed the "dirtier" fighter, constantly holding and pushing Maidana's head down (and Cortez didn't do anything even though Khan was doing it all fight long).

And no one is trying to take away anything from Khan we're just giving Maidana (the underdog) his due. Khan deserved the victory and fought well overall (and brilliantly in spurts). However, Khan was the heavy favorite so it's no surprise that he won, the surprise is how close the fight was and that he almost lost (being lucky in some respect that he didn't).

You didn't see the attempted Elbow? What fight were you watching? The guy hit on the break almost everytime, even after Cortez said stop punching.

Check out the video, Cortez should have never taken away a point from Maidana for an imagined elbow!

I did see the elbow and most likely he was trying to hit Khan. But shouldn't there be a warning first? And the hitting on the break was done by both sides and I think part of the reason he hit when Cortez said break was because he had a hand free and Khan was holding, there shouldn't have been a break. But ok, I'll give you that he hit on the break. What about Khan's constant holding? Or the fact that he kept pushing Maidana's head down? Or the fact that he turned his back on Maidana when Maidana had him in trouble?

I think I have issue with the fact not that Maidana didn't do some things that which warranted a warning (he did) but the fact that Khan did plenty of sneaky dirty things himself and Cortez did virtually nothing.

And Khan turning his back ? Did the dirty fighter take advantage of that move?
