Hmmm that dont make too much sense.... If he fought a heavy handed slugger as opposed to building up to better opponents after the Prescott fiasco it would be the same situation. At some point he has to face a puncher. Whether immediately after Prescott or further down the line. His choice of opponents inbetween is totally irrelevant.
Amir Khan has transformed as a fighter - under trainer Freddie Roach He is no longer the brash naive young man who lost to Prescott He is a mature athlete who has improved his boxing skill And is ready to take on the world He thinks he is a looker - by sending texts to whores - he should settle down with whoever his parents tell him to and live a family life like Enzo Maccarinelli
Of course, but all I'm doing is giving an idea of how easy it could be to just enforce it. Just heard Khan on his Twitter saying he wants Maidana for Dec 11th in the UK. Let's hope that happens.
Yeah, hopefully he beats Maidana in December and shuts everyone up. Maidana hasnt exactly got a granite chin himself.
I would have preferred to see him in with the likes of a holt, someone who can punch a bit. Malagnaggi to Maidana is a recipe for disaster IMO.
Khan would need a picture perfect performance, but I believe hes capable of it. I think Khans jab has become such a formidable weapon under Roach. Its so quick and its thrown with brilliant technique, very difficult to get into a rhythm with that in your face all night. Such an intriguing fight to make. Khan would clearly establish his dominance, but the threat if Maidana is so high...he really does only need 1 punch to win it!
Maidana is of course correct. The Con man says one thing, then does the other, that has been proven in the past. Fact is, the Con man wants no part of Maidana, he's high risk, low reward. They know if Maidana lands one power shot on Khan's disgraceful fragile chin, it will be the end of the hype. And let's face it, Khan doesn't have a good defence. He has an okay defence since Roach made him keep a high guard at all times, but it still got split vs Paulie and Kotelnik landed a right in the 12th that shook the Con man. Fact is, the Con mas has one of the worst chins ever seen in a rated fighter, Roach knows it, GBP knows it, Team Con knows it, and Con himself knows it, so they are all happy for the Con artist to be matched with the light hitters in the division.
its about time this fight happened, we'll see if really does though, i find it hard to believe even half the **** Amir talks these days.
Khan comes from the school of frauds. Shout about what a big man he is and how he will fight everyone, and then ***** behind his promoter and fight smaller guys who cannot hit the whole time. I hope the china chnned joke gets sparked again very soon, thats if he fights anyone who can break an egg again. Prescott did not go to well did it, and he was a colombian road sweeper. I dont think he likes being carried out of the ring in a coma.
Holt meets the ESB standard of 'feather fisted' - under 50% ko record and hasn't stopped anyone with his fists in five years. Like the other guy said, not really sure how the previous opponents impact on Khan's chances against Maidana. Do chins get better with practice at being punched?
