And that's probably the first, last and only straight punch he's ever landed in his life and probably the best punch he ever landed in his career and it still wasnt enough to stop Ortiz. Not to mention Ortiz gave him that punch on a silver platter. Ortiz came walking in without a care in the world thinking Maidana was ready for the taking and he walked right into the punch.

I've never seen Cayo fight so I dunno about him.

But I think Ortiz has a pretty damn good chin. It took awhile but Maidana got to it. He didnt knock Ortiz out literally, but he made Ortiz understand that he could Knock him out, and it wouldnt have been pretty if the ko came literally.

Bradley has shown he keeps his composure together when he gets chin checked, which is the mark of a seasoned pro. But his chin wasnt checked by a relentless power puncher. So we will see.

I don't rate Peterson or Holt that highly either.

You saw Halt get man-handled by Mabuza, right?

Far more impressive than Bradleys win over HOLTSY.

Good point. I forgot how Holt was decisivley beaten by Mabuza, I didnt see that one coming.

Different fighters different fights, I already know this. But still in retrospect it has to change how you look at Bradley "prevailing" over Holts "precise punching" onslaught at least a little. Bradley kept his compusre which is key here, but it just shows Holt isnt as formidable as some people may think. I think Holt just had a unusually great night against Bradley, Mtagwa style, while still coming up short.

Well he fought a ton of bums to get his KO% up high and has fought only 3 fighter worth mentioning. The first he couldnt stop or even drop(I cant remember Kotelnik ever being hurt in that fight either) but Kotelik does have a great chin. Ortiz's chin had been questioned even before the Maidana fight he had been down I think maybe 2 or 3 times before that and besides the one huge right hand he really never had Ortiz hurt(legs gone ROCKED hurt) again he just beat him into quitting with volume punches. And Cayo who's a HUGE question mark considering the only other fighter he's fought worth talking about was a shot Julio Diaz. We really dont know how good he is or how durable he really is. And Maidana landed a ton of huge shots on his and outside of the rabbit punch at theend of round 2 was Cayo ever rocked??? He was hurt pretty bad right before he was stopped but he still had his legs and wits.

I just havent seen any evidence of Maidana being able to get in the ring with the best 140 pound fighter in the world and his power being able to make or break the fight esp just with one punch as a couple of people have said. If anything his only way to win IMO is to overwhelm Bradley with pressure and Bradley not being able to handle it and adjust to it which I dont see happening.

I seen Bradley box circles in the center of the ring against Peterson who is a very good boxer and is quick and has great footwork and movement. If Peterson couldnt couldnt deal with Bradley's movement how will the plodding Maidana??

All in all I'm not sold on Maidana at all yet(if that wasnt clear enough from the rest of the post:patsch)

And what does that have to do with Bradley's chin?? Mabuza stopped Holt makes his power less good??? Styles make fights. Who has Ortiz or Cayo beaten that can equal to Witter, Campbell, Holt, Peterson or even Edner Cherry(who if nothing else can punch) and Vazquez??? The answer? None.

Your point is null and your logic..... well your logic is ******ed sorry to say.

Maidana's menacing wear you down power is what makes him very live in this. Pretty much everyone agrees, he isnt half the pure boxer Bradley is. But Bradley also likes to brawl which is very dangerous. Maidana is beggining to show at a world class level he is able to still be successful in wearing people down while not being the prettiest in doing so.

Yes Maidana only has a few fights at world level and still has plenty to prove, but for the most part he's already proven he can still get ko's/tko's. Yea he has to wear you down, but he still maintains the ability to send you home early.

In alot of cases, it's more dangerous to deal with a guy that pounds on you and ko's you late, rather than just putting you away with one punch, when it comes to effects it has on the body post fight.

Bradley does like to brawl but he does it against guys he knows he can out brawl. I doubt he will try that against Maidana and if he does I think he will quickly realize he cant and the second he realizes that he'll go back to boxing. I dont see Maidana being able to change the fight around with a few punches if Bradley decides to slug it out.

So you do agree that Bradley will have to be as good as ever come fight night to beat Maidana?

Im sure Bradley will do his typical and brawl a bit at some point, then probably taste a good Maidana shot or two, then go back to boxing. But thats when he had better put on a boxing masterpeice and never let Maidana find him, because Maidana is starting to show an ability to make subtle adjustments to find his guy.

Its possible. As of right now. I dont think Bradley has the style to stand up to Maidana's punching power.

I dont doubt that at all. In fact thats the dangerous part of this equation. If Bradley has to go through a large amount of Maidana bombs and show he can stand up to a powerful barrage all night, can he still emerge the same Bradley as before.

Bradley's still pretty young, and only getting better, and this is the kind of fight that could de-rail his career early.

Obviously I could be wrong and Bradley and his team see something in Maidana I dont, but props to team Bradley for taking this interesting fight with Marcos.

I wouldn't vote this early, but Bradley by UD is the most probable outcome IMO.

either a miadana ko whilst severely behind on the cards. or the more likely bradley ud.
still i'm a fan of ko's over points victories so i would prefer the former.
