Khan cannot fight inside, and doesn't have a good chin. Murray can fight inside and has a decent chin - good enough to walk Amir down IMO. He is flat footed - which is why I wouldn't back him against either Khan or Fewkes, but both would be entertaining encounters.
Nah, chances are these guys will have 2 or 3 losses in a few years time, by which point the fight will have lost some of its shine.
In terms of Titles and development its an interesting comparison. Think Khan won the Commonwealth a year ago now in only his 13th fight which was a great achievement. Progress during the last year - Khan has made voluntary defences of the Commonwealth (I believe he should have really been stripped of that Title or forced to face his mandatory Thaxton) and picked up an Intercontinental Title against Kristjansen. Murray won the English Title against an opponent who usually campaigns at light welter and has just captured the British Title Khan chose not to pursue.
Undefeated young British champion. I say make the fight. Murray looked better last night but not sensational or anything. I still didn't see anything that suggests he'll get the best of Khan. Certainly not in talent or tools. Maybe he has the intangiables i.e. chin, heart, stamina etc but I'm doubtful on that too.
Murray has everything to beat Khan based on last night Firstly, and most importantly, he showed a dramatic increase in performance in his biggest fight. He obviously needs to feel threatened to perform, which explains his mediocre performances recently Stylistically, last night he fought like a pressure fighter rather than a brawler. The guard was tight, and he came forward with educated pressure, throwing accurate shots and lots of them. This is exactly what Khan struggled with against Gomez, who is older, slower, smaller and generally battle worn What is Khan going to do when Murray gets close, and takes his shots? Can he take Murray's shots? There are so many questions this fight throws up that is impossible to make a firm prediction.

khans lack of punch resistance isnt going to get him too far in the game, the least he can do before retiring is school some one like john murray and make him regret calling him out.
I think the Board of Control will choose Murray's 1st title defence. Can't wait to see it. Hope it's in September when the season is back on. Murray's trainer told me they'd rather go into a Khan fight, than fight a guy like Fewkes, who brings the same problems for less reward. John is obviously much happier with his career now, and says he wants the biggest and best fights, nothing but main events, and no more undercards. Posters on here will be pleased to know that they're dead set on Khan, and are confident of taking him down.
Im not sure what the future holds for Murray. Most of the better lightweights at domestic level are under the Hennesy banner - will fatty want to put two of them in an eliminator and another challenging for the title? Amir Khan seems intent on convincing everyone that he is the best 135lb'er in the country yet has been blatantly ducking Jon Thaxton for a year now - so he will be in no rush to fight Murray, who stylewise is probably his worst nightmare.
Think Martin Gethin is due to face John Fewkes for the vacant English Lightweight Title early October.
Its the fight british fightfans want to see, but whether warren and khan oblige thats another thing entirely. It wouldn't suprise me to see khan against rees.
