Make or break for Lucian Bute, part one.

How can beating Johnson, at the very bottom of the stack, qualify Bute to fight the elites at the top, I.E., Ward/Froch?

The Bum hasn't even faced an AA, Quillan, Pavlik, or even b level Kessler.

it all comes down to can bute take glens shots. u kno hes gunna get hit lets see if he can take the shots like froch can and not like all green can. because glen is gunna b able to hit ne one he fights he smart n crafty n nos all the tricks to the trade. if bute can take his shots i think he can knock glen out with the body due 2 glens age an him always moving up and down in weight can wrk agaisnt him possibly in takin shots punchinn power n all that . which in the froch fight his punches didnt look hard or its just that frochs chin is just that rock solid i think it way both

Good analysis, but I wouldn't quite say it's a make or break fight for Bute. He's an undefeated champion, his position is pretty secure. I think the lessons that he learned in his fights with andrade will serve him well in this fight. Glen Johnson is pretty unstoppable, but Bute's awkward style a his great reflexes might be the one thing to finally overwhelm Johnson

 

Anyone watched rounds 7 & 8 of Froch-Johnson recently?

Pressure was on big fukkin time, and with quite a bit more punches thrown than what Andrade was throwing at Bute.

Froch took a lot of overhand rights flush on the jaw & temple. Rebounded right back with hook combos.

If Bute takes his share of rights flush, would ESB as a whole accept that Bute's got a decent chin? Just wondering where the hate will be focused on after the Johnson fight. Hate Patrol out.

 

At this stage in his career, and Johnson is STILL his most difficult fight.
