And Paulie won't crack the lightbulb jutting out of amir's face? Paulie's right hand is going to be a point point accurate diamond, and he's going to cut that china chin in half with 2 or 3 massive punches. If Khan makes it to the 4th round I'll be completely surprised. I might even turn my dvr on to 'record'
KAAAAAAAA BOOM!!!!!!! This content is protected SMASH!!!!!!! This content is protected *tink* This content is protected I rest my case.
As well it should be. Paulie, feather-fisted or not, has enough power to shatter that paper-thin glass chin Khan's got.
I have no dog in the fight, but I love the idea of paulie winning and being on this forum when it happens.
Paulie has a good chin...he lasted 12 rounds with a prime Cotto after being cut in the first round....say what you want about Paulie, the kid has heart...I just wish he would stop running his mouth of about Pac being on steroids...he's on Floyd's dick...he wants to agree with everything he says I guarantee thats why he's saying it
Paulie can pull this off. He needs to dance, keep distance, get in and out quickly, and work the jab all night. But I still pick Khan by tko or SD. He's got many of the skills of Paulie, but with power, and has Roach in his corner, who's probably figured out Paulie upside and down.
This is Khans first fight against someone who is actually at world level. How anyone can see that this fight is a mismatch is beyond me! I'm leaning toward Khan but this fight could easily go the other way. People talk about malignaggi being feather fisted and at world level it is true. But look how Willie Limond nearly knocked Khan out and he has a similar KO percentage at British level so Malignaggi definitely hits harder than him!
Yeah, I don't think this is a huge mismatch. Paulie might not have power, but he sure has skills, something Khan has yet to have to deal with in the ring. I am looking forward to seeing how Khan boxes and fights with somebody who is as quick and slick as Paulie. It is just one week away!
Paulie definitely has the skills to keep this fight close. i mean, he has 5 ko's and still manages to beat semi top level competition and former champions. that says a lot about someones pure boxing ability. he has been in with tough competition, has good professional experience, and we know he has heart. i would be very surprised and impressed if khan totally demolishes or embarrasses him. i still think its a tough fight for paulie to win, but i wouldn't be surprised if he did either.
I don't see why this is being viewed as a mismatch. We have two simple boxers. Malignaggi actually has arguably faster hands, better feet, better reflexes and a better jab. That should enable him to control most of the action against a Khan who was very orthodox and predictable against Kotelnik and Barrera, both of whom flattered him by standing there and doing not all that much. The case for Khan is this: 1) He's bigger. He should try and neutralise Malignaggi from the outside with his size, range and strength. Neither are big punchers, but Khan is closer to it. 2) Khan looked spectacular against Salita. There was only a minute or so to watch, but even that was enough to show a marked improvement. Watch at 0:43 below as he feints a jab and then comes round the guard with a long left hook followed by a powerful straight right. Salita isn't the most durable or skilled operator by any means, but that was a great display of craft, speed and power from Khan - things which he decidedly lacked in his other performances. Those are the kind of trimmings that separate an elite fighter from a very good one. Now, it's only fair to assume that he will have improved for Malignaggi: he's young, learning under the best trainer in the sport, more experienced, more physically mature and (ideally) better motivated than he's ever been for his toughest test yet. Pick Khan based on his talent and what you think he'll do; the evidence on film for him is lacking. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmxYvczJpdE[/ame]
