Far from it, it works maybe 70% of the time purely because styles do tend to make the difference when they are evenly matched. But obviously in 2 minutes you don't get any sense of stamina, how they react under certain circumstances and so forth.
Thats the thing some people i speak to do have that stupid logic of he beat him he didnt so he beats him. I don't listen to weigh in taunts and comments as you said Losfer Hatton would be p4p champ. What I mean is i listen to what they say in interviews how they talk about fight...i listen to hear if there plan is what i'm thinking they should do etc. Some people i seen on the general were commenting on Bradley and Campbell and saying Bradley looks ripped etc and i was getting impression they were leaning to Bradley due to his physical condition. I get impression we have a very tactical bunch on here who look into fights more then guessing or looking at records or buying into trash talking. I'm thinking of making a ''KEYS TO VICTORY'' type thread for each big fight or good level fight here or abroad and seeing what people think each fighter needs to do in order to gain that 'W'. We have slips ''i'm convinced thread'' which is a great read and i think this thread will be good to see how people are thinking tactically about each fight.
My policy is to completely ignore peripheral factors. Sparring reports, interviews, weigh ins, it all passes me by. I find it to be complete **** most of the time, its just talk and usually always agenda driven.
I partly agree. I don't listen to ''i'm having a great camp'' i listen to stuff like ''i'm gonna walk through him'' etc because sometimes i get a feeling if a fighters going in wrong direction. The sparring stories i agree they are mostly bollocks...although recently there's been some more concrete stories coming out. I also agree on weigh in's because i seen some fighters look sick and drained and still win.
You have to remember that the general is full of morons as well. Also, there are some incredibly knowledgable people on the Brit forum, as you say, and I really enjoy reading and debating people's unbiased, rational breakdowns on fights and fighters on here. As for the 'Keys to Victory' thread- good idea:good.
Yeah i've started to not look on the general forum much. I used to go on there alot but now coming on here and reading the banter and the knowledge i can say this is the best forum on here :happy Cheers mate i think it be good to see how people think the fight will be won cos i sometimes see peoples opinions in different threads it be nice to gain most thoughts in a this thread.:good
Or ODLH aka 'Thunderbird' against Pacman. I did have a keen eye on that weigh in: This content is protected
Don't get me started on them. I hardly ever visit the general now because every other thread is about catchweights or whether a belt should be involved in a catchweight fightatsch.
I always agree skills pay bills and i don't care much for size but i have seen a lot of stuff before where people say he's to big etc. Sometimes if a fighter hasn't got skills he can get dragged into a fight with a bigger man and lose but normally a well skilled fighter wins against a stronger opponent Hatton Mayweather springs to mind.
great idea i remember before Wlad vs Chag. Me, McGrain and someone else possibly TFFP or D-MAC broke down Wladimr Klitschko and made a keys to victory on how to beat Wlad it was brillaint stuff. So something like that would be really interesting Pac vs ODLh wasnt a catchweight though :huh
I knew someone would bring this up. Technically it wasn't but in practice it was as good as, Pater. They both agreed to meet in a weight division, at the time, that was different to their own (and quite a jump for Pacman from 135). Remember also that ODLH had to weigh within 147 on the night of the fight as well.
