I think Paulie has the boxing skills, the durability to make Maidana look like a fool and can cruise to a UD so long as the fight is not in Argentina.

I do think Paulie can beat this Maidana guy, Im sure some of you will think im out of my mind saying that Paulie Malignaggi can beat Maidana but I really do feel he can get the decision.

I base this one two things:

    1. Maidana cant outbox Malignaggi he doesnt have the skills, He will be looking for the TKO/KO, Malignaggi has an Iron chin.

    2. Malignaggi cant TKO/KO Maidana, Malignaggi will as usual look to outbox and get a decision.

So can Paulie Malignaggi UD Maidana? Yes or no?

***I cant seem to add a poll so if a moderator would be kind enough to add on to the thread with the Yes or No option, It would be appreciataed ***

Not a totally crazy idea - but could Maidana do a Hatton and just walk through everything? Thats probably more likely

Paulie tries to be like Arturo Gatti, Alot of that was down to Buddy Mcgirt but he has changed under Sharif Younan. But seems to still avoid punches with his foot movement instead of head movement.

But I think Paulie can do it, I really think he could UD Maidana.

He could beat Maidana but it would be close. Maidana could bash him up for 12 rounds or Malignaggi could outbox him for 12 rounds. Paulie has a good chin and reflexes but his punches are so poor. They wouldn't even trouble a man on the street. Maidana might just walk through his punches and punish him. It's hard to pick but if I had to I would go for Maidana on points.

I always felt that Paulie just lost his way. There was one round where he was actually circling and jabbing and Hatton looked lost. For whatever reason, Malignaggi appeared to just stop doing so and let Hatton tee-off on him and looked content to survive.

    -

But yeah, I think a Malignaggi who sticks to his gameplan, turns up well prepared and at the peak of his powers - ala the Diaz fights possibly - would outbox Maidana for the most part, he'd probably drop some rounds where Maidana lands the harder, cleaner punches and outworks him, but I think he could probably survive and hear the bell.

Because of that, he might actually be more likely to beat Maidana to me than Khan, just because of styles. But also because of styles, he'd look nowhere near as impressive in winning as Khan possibly could and probably will do.

I think I gave Malignaggi the 1st, but yeah, vintage Hatton that night.

The same Paulie who circles into power shots? the same Paulie who can't follow a gameplan for a full fight when he gets tagged? the same Paulie who needed a gift to get past Herman Ndgougo (spelling)?

Seriously, I'm not a fan of Maidana but he's all wrong for Paulie. See, Malignaggi's defence is entirely his feet, he doesn't really move his head. He would get cought with so many over hand rights against marcos, it ain't even funny. Maidana would outwork him and tag him with too many big shots on his way to a decision, there just wouldn't be enough to discourage Maidana.

I'm sorry fellas, but Paulie is all style and no substance against a big punching pressure fighter, you should all know that by now.

Paulie's a tough kid, whatever you say about him you can't question his chin or heart and to be honest it's not like he can't box.

He has the ability to beat Maidana via UD. Not anymore because his hearts not in sport and i think he's lost his legs, when he did have them he could really cause guys problems. He does silly things at times and that's what lets him down. Like his legs are faster then his brain.

The Hatton fight he didn't realize what made him good, he blames Mcgirt for trying to make him a low in the pocket type fighter.

This has the potential to be a great match up.
It all depends on how much 'on the slide' Malignaggi is.
He would box rings around Maidana for the first half of the fight for sure, but down the stretch Maidana would almost certainly catch up with him. If Paulie still has 'it' he could take some big licks but survive and win a barnstorming SD/UD...however if this is one fight too many then it could be a bad end for Paulie.

Maidana would be too strong for him.

It'd be a good fight but I think Maidana takes it. I like Paulie and at his best with the right gameplan, he could potentially outbox Marcos Maidana for 12 rounds. Equally if he's not focused and tactically prepared enough, then he could be off-pace and destroyed by Maidana and stopped again.

As for the Hatton fight, yeah it was vintage Hatton and he was often quicker to the punch but Malignaggi was awful that night. Had no snap in his punches and his footwork and head movement was very predictable.
