He lost every single round crystal clear. Not at one moment was he competitive. Maybe landed 4-5 GOOD punches throughout the duration... His headbutt was his best moment of the night. He was looking for away out early and wanted to quit but the ref wasn't having it.
Bollocks unless you just score rounds for a fighter plowing forward throwing punches and not landing. 7th round was a close round and the 8th round Scott definitely had moments even though the best shot he landed was a headbutt and I gave that round to him. Ortiz landed very little in this fight, rarely landing in combination, Scott in the 2nd half of the fight was making Ortiz miss easily even with this his back to the ropes. Sure Scott was never going to win and had nothing to hurt Ortiz with but he was competitive in some rounds in the 2nd half of the fight. Scott wasn't landing much but neither was Ortiz. And when I say competitive I don't mean on the scorecards because clearly from the 7th round onwards Scott needed a KO but Scott in the 2nd half of the fight looked pretty comfortable, he wasn't being dominated even after being dropped by that body shot. He was landing when he did bother to throw a right hand. He was doing enough to make Ortiz look bad and have moments where he showed he was a decent boxer.

Ok I was jk around when I said I didn't believe you, but I checked for fun, and you bet 50 lmfao. Betting 50 doesn't mean you believed he'd go 12, it just means that the odds were so good that it was worth betting a small amount btw once sammy pays out the alvarez/mcgregor fight I'll be the richest ESBer so put some respk on me name.
I come from Scottish ancestry...$50 is a big punt for me. PLus I don't have much left in me kitty. LOL
A man who is scared to take punches (Scott) vs a man scared to throw them (Price). They'd not need to glove up for this one...
This is the type of objective talk I want to see more around here. Just give the man his due if he won a round. Malik wasn't a complete disgrace but a disgrace nonetheless. That's the real truth. I want boxers on this level to at least have a path to victory. A couple of rounds showed maybe there was one (if he started from at least round 3 on which he didn't do), but then he goes down again from a semi decent punch.
Punch Stats PUNCHES ORTIZ SCOTT Landed 146 45 Thrown 472 155 Percent 31% 29% Comparing this to Fury/Klitschko "Fury landed only 86 of 371 punches for a connect percentage of 23%, according to CompuBox. Klitschko was just as awful in connecting on only 52 of 231 punches for a connect percentage of 23 percent." Which fight was worse...lol
Who the hell thought this fight was a good idea in the first place? It always sounded like a recipe for the most dud fight of the year. This kind of matchmaking is ruining the sport.
