sakio is a very tough fringe contender. he'd give a lot of people hell at 168. i'd like to see him against andrade, now thats a fight.
Im not really surprised. Bika is pretty ruthless and while he may not be a huge puncher he has power enough for the division. Manfredo is just a very good club fighter, no more. A B-level fighter at best. Good win for Bika. Hopefully he'll get a title shot within the next year after another match, he would give any of the champs a good fight.
I'm very happy for Bika. He is one tough SOB and he deserves the success he is having. He might not be a top10 base on talent. But he makes up for it with his toughness and his will. He is a top10 base on accomplishment.
Pepe's done a great job training him...he's a much better fighter now that he doesn't throw wide looping shots anymore, plus he stayed behind his jab, and did a good job throwing effective power shots and not just non stop power shots like he used too great job, it's nice to see fighters elevate
Bika elevate went he need to, he box Beyer and Bute well cause if he had throw looping shots Bute would had KO him since the body shot affect Bika a lot in that fight.
Honestly, I dont think Bika is good enough to face Kessler and make it a close fight. Sadly, I think no one in the division can right now. Bute is a good fighter and even better went hes not vs a pressure fighter, but Kessler is to good for him at this stage. I think Bika vs Kessler need to happen just to show the world how good Kessler really is. He was not ready to beat somebody like Calzaghe he needed that « 0 » to go, but right now, he would beat Calzaghe.
look...im from RI...we root for our own...you know how small we are....we root for will blackmon in green bay....rocco and dan wheeler even though were sox fans....mike cloud....demetris nichols.....weve had some great moments for such a small state...tj sorrentine from like 30 ft for vermont to upset syracuse....blah blah....we root for peter...but we anyone who knows boxing knew this was a mismatch....ended just about where i expected it.....good little career for peter...talkin about a guy with 6 l's who made a pretty good lil living over the last 3-4 years...and invested it....hell do fine...and thats something to be proud of
